Vito Arujau Stats/Facts/Opinion 4x NYS champion 1x NYS runner up (8th grade) 216-1 career high school record 177 match win streak in HS which is second longest ever in NY (behind Yianni 210) Only loss in double ot to Yianni in state final 8th grade NCAA record : 75-7 (one year left) High school and NCAA combined: 291-8!!!! 7 college losses -Freshman - 1- teammate Chas Tucker 7-5 OT 2-Pat Glory 10-8 (EIWA final) 3- Sebastian Rivera 6-2 (NCAAs) 4- Sebastian Rivera 8-3 (NCAAs) Sophomore 5- Pat Glory 11-9 6- Pat Glory 13-5(NCAAs- BS call) Junior 7- Sam Latona 3-2 Notes on losses ** Teammate Chas Tucker went 34-0 the covid year tourny was cancelled. Tucker overtime loss was only his 4th match wrestled in NCAA career and it was at 133. He would go down to 125 after. ** Glory series** Glory won the series 3-2 however when Vito beatGlory he spanked him. He beat Pat Glory his freshman year by pin at the dual and was dominating prior. At EIWA finals sophomore year he nearly teched him winning 19-6. All of his losses to Glory were very tight. Yes even the 13-5 major at NCAAs. Rewatch the match and tell me if you think that that wasn’t a reversal Vito had which would have made it his back points as well not Glory’s. So instead of getting 6 points, Glory got 4. 10 pt swing and may have cost him an NCAA title . He was on top of Glory with a cross face and no reversal call 🤦🏻♂️ ***Latona series*** Vito leads 3-1 won my major 12-2 sophomore won by decision 6-1 CKLV- JR Won by decision 9-5 NCAA-JR (yes everywhere says 8-5 but they never gave him the riding point at end by mistake The one and only match he lost this year to Latona he had a major back injury during the 3-2 loss. Wish he had just sat out cause it prolly cost him the Hodge. ***Rivera*** Rivera at that time was just straight up better than Vito. It was the year he beat Spencer twice. Vito is a cadet world silver medalist and a junior world silver medalist.

Vito went full kawhi leonard at 46:00 lol. like the discussion around folk rule change can only get 2 escape points a match from takedowns. It can accelerate the action to get those escape points out the way and rack up takedowns after that if they so choose. Sweet podcast guys keep it coming! Thanks to Vito too!!!

46:41 that cannot work. If thats the case people will just cut someone they cant hold down. The solution is 1 bonus point at the end of the match to the guy who has more takedowns, similar to how riding time is a bonus point.
@dillonmackay683 Жыл бұрын
Takedowns are hard to get in college than in highschool 2-1 4-2 matches are common so why not reward ppl for taking someone down when it’s so hard to do
@PJP1112 Жыл бұрын
@Dillon Mackay hence why I suggest a bonus point for most takedowns, just like riding time, is 1 point. How would you objectively determine the difference between an intentional release, which would be free vs. a legitimate escape worth 1 point? Answer is you can't. Thus the entire concept falls flat on its face.

great job guys. Not a Vito fan personally, too much bs long island stuff "i think I'm better than everyone" and not very likeable unlike Yanni and even Gable, but fully respect him as a wrestler.
@aledmondson46169 ай бұрын
I like his wrestling but his attitude is not so cool. He's a bit over the top with his machisimo..He's really good but being somewhat arrogant is not befitting a champion. Totally unnecessary because we see the greatness already. Needs to dial back the aggression once he's not engaged..
