Vito door mirror removal

great video - would you have any idea why my W639 2012 vito's passenger side electric window doesn't go up or down from the passenger door window switch or from the drivers side it doesn't go up or down? neither can i adjust the door mirror position from the control on drivers side, so i can get the right spot to see behind? Drivers side window & mirror adjustment are fine.

Try tying a length of cord on the end of the loom so you can pull the new one back, it worked well for me. You need remove the centre part of the 3 lower clips to avoid breaking them. thanks for the video.

quick question, can you fit powerfold mirrors to a vito that has just heated electric adjustable mirrors, e.g. is wiring a standard loom,cheers

If I’m honest I never looked when removing the door card and mirror I would just remove the door card and see if the wiring was there tbh as it’s only a 5min job sorry I Carnt be much help

Is it possible to replace the lower plastic mirror molding ?

I'm trying to do the same thing, can't seem to separate it from the motor / rotating part. I, 'm considering cutting a slot in the new lower molding and then glue back together once in place. I've tried googling many many logical keywords but no advice comes up, this makes me think it's not possible.

Same happened to me with the screw falling into the door. But now that I'm refitted, mirror glass auto tiles to the top and cannot be adjusted on the drivers door 😅

Should I say, I dropped the screw when removing the wing mirror. It was the one at the awkward angle. I can’t find it anywhere. Didn’t sound like it dropped far. Puzzled on where it could be.

You need to put a magnet into the whole to find it chris, if your lucky your get it out, I have done this my self plenty of times :) so your not alone. If that fails you could replace it with a bolt

@@chrishaw4652 the screw is M6 , forgot to measure but about 25mm long. Top tip to avoid dropping the screw into the door when removing it - slacken it off with the ratchet, then stick a blob of blu-tak on your torx driver and take it all the way out by hand
