"The other day, I went to the Noguchi Museum in Takamatsu, and it was very impressive." It was a good opportunity to get a glimpse of his spirit.

Beautiful. When you consider how much goes into making them, they are worth every penny.

The same way it was put together, but each piece gets slid out through the hole in the lantern.

Amazing artist. Thank you for sharing this with me. I watch every video i find of these lanterns being made. I do have a question, though. Is the cord done in a continuous wrap, or are the different sizes cut as you go?

Hypnotic; a device like a prism it reassembles energy back into a light we are drawn to.

@@annalisazimmermann4019hi, do they also spray it with water after gluing? I saw another vitra video where they do it. Do you know how thick the paper is? Thank you

@@aiandtechexpert idk tbh... tho i don't think that spraying water on it after gluing is gonna do any good... i think it could rip... (do you know which video that was? sounds interesting!) the paper is really thin but still kinda sturdy (you can go into some kind of japan store where they have similar lamps and just touch the stuff... i doubt the paper in modern lamps is much different than in traditional ones...) as a diy idea: i've been saving the paper our local bakery wraps their bread in, to try and make a lamp out of them... we'll see how that goes ^^
