The album is phenomenol. Pushing music to it's limits. It definitely takes a few listens.

Necrotic Nick- I've had about 3 solid listens so far. I really have to be in the mood for something like this as even sonically it pushes the limits. Emotionally, this might be one of the most rage filled, anguished listens I've had in awhile.

I’m with Jon, here. I get each of your takes, and respect them. But I really, really enjoy this. The tiny latent synesthesia I sometimes experience from “wall of sound” recordings is pure fireworks from this album, and I thank you guys for bringing it to my attention. \m/

Necrotic Nick- I think it's very engaging and sonically terrifying but it's really something I have to be in the mood for. They definitely seem like they're trying to push the envelope in terms of what it is to be heavy. I like dissonance but for me it has to be more of an accent rather than the bulk of the material. Still, I know this band will find some new fans with this one. It's an absolute monster of an album and so damn visceral it just sticks with you. Glad you dug it, man!

Exceptional album, leaping ahead of their previous work. Exactly what I wanted and without expectation to how insane it would turn out. This is definitely barely controlled chaos of the highest intensity level. Not for everyone; understanding of those opinions. This is the supernatural, larger than life side of extreme metal meant to be unsettling, painful, and caustic. Dylan’s artwork is always epic; I suggest seeing the entire canvas when it is released.
@thrallsofmetal10 ай бұрын
Necrotic Nick- While this album is feral and vicious as hell it does feel more focused than the debut. The songs are insane but pretty damn tight and I think the lead work really stepped up in particular. I definitely agree that this is not for everyone. This band's sound really pushes the levels of extremity in a lot of ways so I doubt this will ever be an easy listen but it's pretty awesome in it's own way. Yeah, I really dig the art so I definitely wouldn't mind checking out the rest of this piece as well.

Necrotic Nick- I got into them with their debut and then snagged the EP. I dig this band but there are points where it's just too much as far as how intense the atmosphere is. That being said, it's really easy to get drawn into their sound. It's like hypnotic rage or something. Amazing live band too.

The first album was "Sonic waterboarding", according to Kyle Rasmussen. If so, this album is voluntary freezing ice baths mixed with choking hot saunas. It's unpleasant, but you kind of like it anyway. And you can voluntarily go through with it and feel better after. It's going to be hard to shake this off the top of the death metal AotY list for me, seeing how last year was AMAZING for death metal and this tops them all.
@thrallsofmetal9 ай бұрын
Necrotic Nick- Man, if that isn't an accurate way to describe that debut lol. He should know though. It's hard to describe the level of sonic torment on this one though. It's all encompassing. You feel surrounded by it instantly rather than it slowly closing in. I think it's well done but in terms of riffs and melodies there's still not much for me to grasp on here and I really have to be in the mood to jam it because it's such a harsh album.

But you all know I am the same guy that cannot get into second wave black metal because it is not very memorable but I love first wave black metal. Necrotic Nick- I enjoy for the sheer ferocity of their sound and the fact that they have a really atypical style for a lot more brutal death metal acts but at the same time I need more riffs as well.
