@@Titant2 I first saw Hate Eternal at Milwaukee Metal-fest in the late 90's. Terrific band. I question the concept of 'featuring' another player on an album(not *who* it might be). If I like a band I see them live. Those 'featured' on an album rarely tour with the band. In my experience it cheeses the song in question.

@@BlackPhillip666 I Monarch is permanently in my car :P. Erik Rutan is one of the main reasons why i picked up the guitar again. I think that a guest solo or a backing vocal can work. Like for example Erik Rutan on The Illuminaught did with Misery Index. I think it's a decision that the band members need to make whether it fits their creative direction. But if they want it they totally should. I don't think that having a guest appearance on an album has to be a bad thing. Whether it's vocal or a guest solo. Guess that is not up to either of us. If the band likes to do it, why not. If they don't, kudo's to them as well.

7 string and guitars tuned to A or Drop A are integral part of death metal history. Just a kind reminder for You that Morbid Angel "Covenant" used 7th string before Korn debut. The thing is - everything lower than A sounds like shit with alternate picking, so all those bands tuned to F# start to incorporate more and more djent/death core style into death metal and that sucks.
