@torstenlandsson97576 жыл бұрын
Oh I don't know about that one! Horns can sound amazing in some areas but it's not nearly as versatile as a trumpet or trombone. In some areas, horns sounds the best and in others they sound the worst!
@johnaldag36456 жыл бұрын
Torsten Landsson Trumpets and trombones, in my experience, are just used more often in prominent positions in musical pieces. They may be able to hit notes that horns don't, but horns have much greater control in the range that they hit, which isn't something to sniff at to begin with.

As someone who has never touched a horn of any kind (unless you count a cream horn pastry) I have a legit question... well, I guess it's technically two questions... when you purse your lips do you end up spitting into the horn? And if so, does it ever make the mass moist migration all the way down to the big end?
@SophieTheBagel19848 жыл бұрын
Yes. Spit does get into the horn and the spit, mixed with condensation, sometimes does trickle out the bell. That's why french horns have "spit valves". Ever so often, you blow air through the horn and open the valve and the water comes out. Sometimes though, the water gets trapped in small areas and you can't get it out via the valve. In that case, you turn the whole horn upside down and try to make it come out of the mouth pipe, after you remove the mouth piece of course. But sometimes it also comes out the bell.
@ScottyHunter8 жыл бұрын
***** Wow. Eww. But I'm laughing at the idea of "spit valves" anyhow. Thanks for the answer. I feel like I learned something new today.. even if it was a little icky. ;)

How do you make a trombone player a French horn player? You stick your hand in the Bell and crack half the notes

Lyrics: I used to rule the world Chunks would load when I gave the word Now every night I go stow away Hide from the mobs I used to slay They once were terrified Every time I looked into their eyes Villagers would cheer my way For a hero I was, that's what they'd say One minute we had it all Next our world began to fall Away from all that it had once become They all cried for my help, but I stood there numb I gaze off into the boundless skyline Noteblock choirs playing in the sunshine Turn 'round pick up my sword and wield The blade that once forced evil mobs to yield And hope one day that this chaos and Destruction turns for the better Never a bow in hand That was when I ruled the land It was the creepers and Skeletons Blew down the doors and boxed us in Arrows whizzing by like streaks of light I tried all that I could to stay and fight As the undead roamed the street Families broken at my feet Life itself suspended by a thread Oh, why is it that I wasn't dead I gaze off into the boundless skyline Noteblock choirs playing in the sunshine Turn 'round pick up my sword and wield The blade that once forced evil mobs to yield If this battle should leave me slain I know that Herobrine will call my name Better to take a stand That was when I ruled the land I gaze off into the boundless skyline Noteblock choirs playing in the sunshine Turn 'round pick up my sword and wield The blade that once forced evil mobs to yield If this battle should leave me slain I know that Herobrine will call my name Better to take a stand That was when I ruled the land

Wow I play trumpet and I know someone who plays the French horn and apparently it's super difficult. So here you are not only playing such well divined notes but at the same time editing to make a really good song. I'm impressed

Is it just me or do French horns sound really similar to trombones?

FhornPatrick would you still feel victimized if the person said that the French horn sounded like euphonium?
@charlescothron80636 жыл бұрын
Horns sound nothing like trombones or euphoniums. He just playing it really brassy. People play the horn differently depending on the piece and what’s needed.
@tylermorrison94676 жыл бұрын
CHUBTUBS In my opinion french horn and euphonium can sound similar, but everyone can think differently

The style in the begining really does, but then it becomes normal again. I love the french horn's range sounds so good... sometimes I want to play bass, but us trumpets tend to go higher and higher.
@razrv3lc4 жыл бұрын
The French horn is the prettiest brass instrument by FAR. It’s so smooth. I will forever regret playing trumpet in high school even after my band director begged me to swap to French horn...

Being a French Horn player the one bad thing is the ungodly small mouthpiece

I love it, and I have large lips so I shouldn't. The mouthpiece feels the best to me of all the instruments

I wanna learn how to play French horn so bad.
@averymine47936 жыл бұрын
Here are Tips since I play it: .the Left hand goes on the fingering place, the right hand in the bell in a cup shape .very tight mouth corners and chin up for high notes, slightly less tight mouth corners and drop your jaw for lower notes, PLUS FINGERING .get used to changing the mouth corners tightness for different notes without using fingering .then, remember to buzz your lips! Anyway, that's all I have. I'm only in beginning band but it's near the end of the year so I know more then I did.. :p
