This was breathtakingly fantastic! Ordinarily, over acting (aka "chewing the carpet") is not a virtue, certainly not in movies; but in opera (or Oratorio, which Juditha Triumphans is) it can be. The passion, expressed in Emőke Baráth's facial contortions alongside her magnificent voice, timbre, and trills brings this aria to life. It gave me goose bumps and a wonderful shuddering. I was almost relieved, when she walked off the stage before the last note was played: I feared she might tear to bits (or decapitate) one of the players if she hadn't. After this aria, you can be sure that Holofernes is....toast. Thanks so much for uploading.
