All it needs is a kick ass drum groove and you have a Castlevania boss battle.

@blueneptune146 Thanks much! Not sure if i'll finish winter, as it's difficult with the restrictions of lsdj's maximum song size, but I am working on more pieces. I've figured out that it's not really feasible to do a lot of pieces because so many have unusual tempo changes and that becomes a major pain! I'll totally look into it tho ;)

I would be interested to put a lot of effort in transforming classical pieces into 8bit or 16bit soundtracks. I just haven't found a program that's good enough. What program are you using?
@SuperWarMech9 жыл бұрын
+TheBeastHole this was done in LSDJ on a Gameboy, but if you have any experience with using trackers for music i would suggest Famitracker. Lots more you can do with it. And for SNES music I use Open ModPlug Tracker. I have other programs that allow me to rip samples from SNES games so I can use them as instruments. For Sega Genesis I use Deflemask. They all have their charms and their faults but they're the best I've found for the systems I mentioned.
@theplayliszt-8-bitmusic4268 жыл бұрын
I'm looking for LSDJ but can't find it anywhere. I mostly use Genesis samples but I love the Gameboy sound, it would be neat to be able to do it on an actual Gameboy. :(
@SuperWarMech8 жыл бұрын
LSDJ is a program that was written to be used on a Gameboy. You can download the rom or if you really want to go hardcore with it you can get a gameboy flashcart and put the rom on it to write on a real gameboy. The original DMG-01 with a prosound mod will give you the fullest sound with the least noise. I have a video on my channel about the equipment and programs i use. I have a few more that I use now but it's definitely enough to get you started!
@theplayliszt-8-bitmusic4268 жыл бұрын
Oh, I'll try the flash cartridge thing. I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to hardware. I inherited my older sister's consoles, but I was barely born at the time. :D I'm trying to do some Famicom style stuff right now but it's very noisy, there's a lot of cleaning involved. I'm going to watch your video, thanks.
@Gyrbae8 жыл бұрын
I suggest you buy Super Audio Cart from Impact Soundworks, hell of a lot easier than using the real thing. It sounds a lot like an original 16 bit system, too.
