Great review & video, my brotha! I just bought a brandy new 2019 114 Special in Midnite Blue myself last September! I am also in love with mine. Added some cosmetic upgrades along with windshield, color speedo upgrade, flush mount fuel cap & fuel gauge at left (lights up in blue dots for fuel level!), blacked out rear crash bars at front of bags so IF it goes over it doesn't ruin the hard bags finish. And a full set of LED lights up front and rear LED dot brake lights. Kuryakin ISO grips with throttle paddle. I will add blacked out skeleton mirror supports, skull shift linkage, shifters & brake pedal next. This bike handles FAR better than my 2015 Road King that I bought new in 2015. Also rides far better and clutch doesn't have that clunk either. This bike is AMAZING!!!

Nice review mate! I just own a ‘18 RKS in Industrial Gray Denim. I changed the front blinker glasses to smoke ones. The back is nothing at this moment for. Further i sprayed the reflectors in the bags with rubberspray, gloss black. Further put some handguards against the cold (this one had no heated grips, cost €750 Kahuna type)! Is that Hammock seat no tooooooo soft. I rather have a stiffer seat for long hauls…!.?

Good review. I have a similar Road King Special (2017) which I bought at 9 months old with 1000 miles on. It came with the same windshield which I swapped for a standard one as I found the wind buffeting uncomfortable (I am 6' 3"). I also changed the bars for 12" mini apes as I found the standard ones too wide. I have a hammock seat too but usually run with a single Mustang seat. I would be very interested to see how you wired up the indicators to stay on permanently. I have switched to Custom Dynamic LED indicators which have a white running light and amber flasher, but as I am in the UK (International model), only the flasher works and I would like to get the running light going. Keep it up
@FastnCurious4 жыл бұрын

G'day Dean, I bought a 20inch windscreen for my 20 RKS , being 5'11 thought it would give me more protectionBut it gives me shocking wind buffeting even at 60 km/h. How did you find the wind splitter with buffeting ???
@FastnCurious2 жыл бұрын
G’day mate! damn that’s a shame and you can’t put up with that! I personally found it ok I always kept the wind vent open and no probs. We’re a similar height too I’m 5’10” so a bit strange. The worst wind buffeting for me was on the Street Glide terrible. Wind buffeting is the result of wind coming over the screen BUT ALSO wind coming up beside the fuel tank from the fork area. Next time you ride put your hand beside the tank and you'll likely feel the wind blowing upwards as well.You could try a set of fork wind deflectors here some links they apparently work very well! In Black: amzn.to/3LeLrmW In Chrome: amzn.to/3yJ8jbk Cheers!
@hondanut75642 жыл бұрын
@@FastnCurious thanks mate , it’s a freedom shield which gets good reviews and looks good , but I can’t use it because of that shocking buffeting. I have Burleigh bars 2 inch high balls on and with the rake back of the wind splitter not sure if it will work . But Funny you should say that about the street glide as a shorter mate of mine said the exact same thing , he reckons HD should have a electric up down taller screen like the Indian does . Anyway thanks again mate , for helping out

How do you find the CVO's 117ci motor in comparison to the 114ci motor on the Road Kind Special? I have a 2019 CVO Street Glide. But, love Road Kings.
@FastnCurious3 жыл бұрын
Hey Steve, great question buddy and Harley might not like this but really not too much at all. General riding you’ll see no difference at all. Loaded up on tour will be some more torque and roll on throttle in 3rd gear onwards a little more power. As take I can’t say I noticed any measurable performance difference. For me, it would not be a deciding factor in the purchase of what I wanted I was extremely happy with the 114 too. Hope that helps and thanks for watching 👍💥
@steverodwell29523 жыл бұрын
@@FastnCurious Thanks for the prompt reply Dean. I rode a 114 Street Glide Special before buying the CVO version and to be frank could not tell much of a difference. Guess rightly or wrongly it is a bragging rights sort of thing, along the lines of there is no substitute for cubes. All depends how the cubes are tuned.
