Maybe it has something to do with the way he teaches and how she views her art. A lot of artists say “oh it’s nothing” and tend to be a little pessimistic. Vivian’s positive attitude probably contributes to her good art because she isn’t all about total perfection and all about trying new shapes, designs, colors and anything that can possibly be visually pleasing.

Well my heart is tearing apart here because yeah, vivi is amazing, and she's said that she is. Me being in art high school, when I draw or animate in kind of cartoony style, I'm immediately told to s top being so infantile, it's not art, it's just a craft, your hand is steady, curves are nice but your ideas and I don't know are just... like they wanted to be liked by the audience. Of course I'm not going to stop or anything ewh, it just makes me feel so down, while I see people can be told they're doing great job... Good for them, good for viv, uh.

That sucks but Vivienne understand the basics. the fundamentals. She knows anatomy really well that she is able to break the rules and exaggerate it to however she wants because she a strong understanding of realism. Great art, or any art should be based of realism. Matt knows this fact. Maybe your teachers are trying to teach you this as well. but to say its not art?? something is wrong there. you should punch them in the face. XD

hey this looks really great! Sorry if I offended you or anything. It's just that most of the time teachers would caution students who would ONLY draw what they like without knowing the or at least studying foundation skills. I love drawing cartoons and anime and whatnot but i put in the same effort towards my foundation skills and my teacher didn't mind my stylized drawings because she knew that I knew what I was doing. Sorry for rambling on haha. you obviously know and understand the fundamentals. I apologize again if I offended you in any way. I don't understand why a teacher would discourage a student for drawing something they really like. That just.. That makes me furious. Just do what you love but do what they say they say even if you disagree with their outlook about art. I hope everything works out for you buddy. And how old are you btw?
