I found an f6.3 version of nearly the same lens m42 mount... super cheap, still an excellent lens.

Mate it's so much fun, I never did sell my Sony to buy the 100-400, I just kept this instead. Thanks for watching.

I CAN USE THIS LENS WITH MY CAMERA OLYMPUS MICRO 4/3 ?? its possible?
@FosterMedia

Yes, with a MFT conversion mount, my lens is pentax K mount to a K-MFT adapter.

@@FosterMedia For example, if I find a vivitar lens or any brand, for example with a T2 mount, I would need a T2-M43 or T2-MFT adapter, right? And if it's an OM mount lens, then OM-MFT, right? This is crazy about old lenses and different from your bayonet or camera mount, there are a lot of types and a person has a lot of desire and enthusiasm but then they lose the desire because they cannot find adapters or compatibility with their camera, hahaha xD.

@@georgi1993bg yes you are right. All older SLR lenses can be adapted to mft, some SLR lenses can be adapted to other SLR mounts, but not all, it depends on the flange distance. for example, Canon EF has a flange distance of 44mm, Canon FD has a flange distance of 42mm, therefore an FD lens on an EF is not possible (not with out diopters) as the lens would have to be physically 2mm inside the EF mount, to make the 42mm flange requiremnt, this is for the most part physically impossible. Rule is, if the lens mounts designed flange distance is GREATER than your cameras flange design, then a simple adapter will work. So EF has 44mm, sony E has 18mm, the the adapter will be 26mm in length, to give the lens its designed projected image circle at 44mm flange distance.

@@FosterMedia bufff haha, you have made me a little crazy, more than I am, my head is saturated with looking at photo lenses. You mean that if the lens is larger in diameter, the bayonet than the sensor of your camera can be used and there are adapters but if the diameter of the lens to the sensor is smaller, it is not possible to use it.

@@georgi1993bg no, size is only relevant if we talk about sensor size and vignetting. flange distance is the distance from the sensor to the mount. Old SLR lenses have big distances as the sensor/film was really far back in the camera as there was a mirror in between the lens and the sensor, modern mirrorless dont have this so its shorter, so old SLR lenses can fit onto mirrorless camera but not visa versa. go watch some vids on flange ditance, it took me a while to grasp it too lol.

Good video, but i think that the lens is really pushing its limits on A7R models

Yeah I'd agree, it's nothing compared to modern glass, as you say the higher res cameras require even better glass. It's not bad for video, but pretty low on contrast.

I think this was filmed on my old one, just some cheap generic shit, was lose Af. Now I have a K&F, with the orange ring, and it's really nice. The lens itself was CY but I hard converted to ef by simply gluing a ef adapter on it. 🤓
