Got a Vivitar QuadCopter and found this video to be excellent in helping me with the entire setup; thank you so much !!

Thanks so much man I got a lot of info from you that didn't come with the instructions. And the app explains nothing, so you saved me time figuring that stuff out. The only thing you didn't talk about was the GPS accuracy test. I can start it but it never seems to turn off. One other thing when it set up it didn't turn on the permission for access to my phone. When I turned that on manually it allowed me to use the different types of maps which it didn't before. Anyway I flew it a little bit today for the very first time I found it remarkably easy and controllable I had no idea it would go as fast and as high as you showed in your videos so thanks for that too. Mine has lots of problems. 1. My protectors don’t snap in 2. My landing legs’ screw holes aren’t big enough for any screw 3. There are tons of missing screws in the propeller areas, and I cannot insert new ones

I've posted a video showing footage from this drone using an action camera & mount. It's here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJ-YZYJ7fdSVY9E Although not perfect (due to high-wind conditions), the footage is significantly better than the stock camera it comes with (in terms of resolution, quality, & stability).

Hey guy you said in your video at 19 minutes 02 seconds your camera had a tilt to it. Mine did also. I unplugged the camera removed the camera and gently unscrewed the 4 small screws opened the camera housing and the camera lenses has a notch it must line up with. I placed the lens correctly reassembled the housing remounted it plugged it in powered the drone up and it was perfect. Try it on yours. It took me all of 5 minutes start to finish.

FYI if your video feed is off level remove camera housing CAREFULLY. Unscrew housing screws and remove cover there is a groove on the lens with a indicator the lens must slip into to hold the horizontal. Align lens reassemble and go enjoy it.

Thanks. Not sure what the issue could be… perhaps there is a compatibility issue between the drone and your phone? Maybe try with another mobile device or tablet to see if the issue is particular to your phone…

Try deleting the app then reinstall the app. Make sure you use the authentic program app from the app store.

The Truth make sure to install the Skeye WiFi connection Then you can go to your AEROVIEW app. (I think, if I remember right)

PS in app mode with it on and ready to fly lift off while hovering tap the icon that shows a drone in the upper left corner then touch left on your screen and a virtual joy stick will pop up touch right on your screen and another virtual joystick should pop up upon removing your finger the virtual joy stick will disappear until you touch either side of your smart phone. That's how you can fly it with your phone and app. Just a fyi.

How do you calibrate the joysticks? My yaw is messed up. Going vertically up or down is no problem. But when I try and rotate it left or right when it's hovering it will rotate but is also takes off to the left or right. And yes, calibrations are done to a T. Thanks for the help.

The only thing I could recommend are the two calibrations (gyro & GPS compass) that are performed at 16:26 in the video... perhaps restart the drone & transmitter and try those calibrations again, hopefully that will resolve the issue…

You can try at your own risk, but it seems like the lens inside is the issue...

If there isn’t an easy way to adjust it, then you can try returning it, but I’ve heard several models were released with this defect, so there’s a chance the next one may have it as well...

I do not know how to get the legs one. The screws holes make It extremely hard to put the screws in because they are a little small. HELP PLEASE!!!!

Yes, it can be a bit frustrating… It requires a bit of time and patience, but once it’s done, it will be set & ready… Simply align the screws in there as best as you can and slowly screw them in…

I had the same problem. I think the prop guard screws were a little bit shorter then the leg screws. The longer ones go in the legs. I screwed the screws in and removed them before mounting leg, made them easier to screw in. It was a b@t&h! GOOD LUCK

Man this video is so informative......didn't know you could use other cameras, one of the reason I was thinking about upgrading to something better but now I may hold on to it.....albeit you lose functionality of the vivitar app if you decide to go with an aftermarket camera.

Purchased one of these on the 9th at wal mart. It's pretty good, came missing one of the fan guards. Can't say it's the best (my first one though, enjoy the two full flights I've done). I have two questions, though. 1) Looking to get an extra battery or two. Looking at Amazon, thinking it would be nice to spend the $50 on two with a dual charger since it takes five hours or so to charge. Suggestions? 2) Sound... don't think it has sound (microphone). Anyone have experience with this, as in does the included camera have sound or is there an option for this and your thoughts?

Yes as long as you have a home lock and calibrate gyros before takeoff.

Correct, if it loses control signal (not video signal)… So it is possible to lose video signal, but still have control of the drone… If in doubt, simply push the return-to-home button…

It does altitude hold automatically. As for exactly how high it goes I'm not sure it's definitely no lower than 4 feet and no higher than about 5 and a half feet. Somewhere in between there.

About 10 to 12 minutes, but the batteries are inexpensive and easy to find, so you can buy several batteries and keep it flying for quite a while… Not too bad considering that the maximum for this type of drone is twenty to twenty five minutes...

I have this drone. Had it for a few months. It's decent but tolilet bowled on me bad twice and it doesn't have follow me. There's no button on the controller or setting or button in the app for follow me. At least on mine.

Yes if it starts toilet bowling you need to land it immediately and re-calibrate the GPS compass… So far I haven’t had that issue with mine… As far as the follow-me, you can only use that function from the app…

@@rx344 from my experience the app has no follow me button or function. I've asked others who own and reviewed this drone and they said they couldn't find follow me neither. And I did land it and recalibrate but after some time it did it again. But everyone's drone and experience is different. I just don't think it's worth the price for the quality. The ProMark GPS Drone is like a more expensive version of this and is only 70 bucks this where I'm from is $130 for less quality. Aside from the drone I appreciate the quality and professionalism of your review. :)
