It all depends on how much light there is in the scene you taking a night photo off, what sensor it will use.. my Samsung S22 Ultra does the same if it's to low light when i have on 10X is uses the 3X sensor instead for better light intake

I'm considering this vs the Xiaomi 12 pro. Can't really decide which one I should go for. Or should I wait for the Xiaomi 12 ultra or Vivo X80 pro+, should it arrive later this year?! I lean more towards cameras, especially photography and not much into videography and gaming. I really like curved AMOLED displays. Samsung and Apple are outta my league for the specs and features I want. Any advice?

If you are able to wait 3-4 months then kindly wait for Snapdragon 8 gen 1 plus . This is expected to be a better power efficient processor meaning less heat and better battery life. All current flagship phones are having heating and battery issues. If you cannot wait then x80 pro is a better choice than xiaomi 12 pro. It has IP68 rating , proper telephoto lens and usb type c 3.0 port (vs 2.0 on 12 pro) & hopefully better battery life. Another issue that 12 pro has is low sound despite having quad speakers which is disappointing. But if you are on a tight budget then Xiaomi 12 pro is also one of the BEST display , and good primary camera phone.

@@nvb_01 yeah I'm considering budget in my decision as well(X12pro). But I've been hearing it's throttling and heating issues, and the battery drainage. Vivo X80 pro is a bit pricey as of yet, and it still have that 8 gen 1 heating issues I suppose. That makes me wanna go the regular X80 because of the Dimensity 9000. Or should I really wait for newer devices which will be coming with 8 gen 1+?

@@rajtakhell7494 Waiting is the best option if you can. In next 2-3 months snapdragon 7 gen 1 and Snapdragon 8 gen 1 plus devices will be out. Yes Xiaomi 12 pro does have the issues you mentioned. Also consider Realme GT 2 Pro which could be better and cheaper but not as good as Xiaomi 12 Pro in cameras.

Only thing is that it is heavy and needs care not to drop it etc due to curved display . For X80 you can check with someone who has used it not KZbin reviews

I feel bad for the 8 Gen 1 chipset due. to it being manufractured by Samsung and because of that only Samsung and RedMagic can do front camera with 4K video selfie recording while the rest of the flagships couldn't do. I hope the 8+ Gen 1 can fix that problem or the money will keep pouring into Apple cuz they have so so so much better video recording + most users around the world are worker, vlogger, film-maker, etc.

It has the option to record calls and it works great. Once you're on a call, you will see the record button on the bottom right of the screen

I know some 3rd party app comes to provide this feature but I was asking it from by default option point of view. Additionally, I would ask if recoding a call makes an announcement that call is being recorded for other party to know or not.

The only issue is... SD8+G1 (seriously the stupidest name ever) is just around the corner and is made by TSMC compared to Samsung node on the 8G1, and Qualcomm is showing a 30% GPU performance boost and a 25% in CPU which is pretty much a year boost that never happened in "+" variants of Qualcomm (+ variants normally have a 15% improvement on CPU and a 15 to 20% at best in GPU over non + variant, so it's definitely the tsmc node that makes the difference here).
