I'm giving him the space he wants as he is giving me silent treatment. I've been in a 4 year long distance relationship which has regular bouts of silent treatment from him. Can you please do a segment on silent treatment and how to properly deal with it as it seems to be his pattern.

@@rachaelgarraway2846 The quick answer is to have a life that's so interesting, so engaging, so fulfilling, so HAPPY that you don't even notice when he's not engaging because the rest of your life is so full and wonderful. When he does this, take it as an opportunity to love your own life more. Also, I have to ask... you've been in a long distance relationship with this guy for 4 years? Have you ever lived in the same area or has it been long distance the whole time? And is there any plan or desire on either person's part to live somewhere close to each other physically?

@@VixenDaily thanks for your quick reply and your advice is spot on. We have always been long distance, 120 miles between us. We see each other every weekend and text/chat daily. When things are good they are awesome and then outa the blue silent treatment. We knew each other 30yrs ago as friends only, went our own ways and met back up again 4 years ago. I was 6yrs post divorce and he had just left his dysfunctional marriage. His divorce proceedings are still going through court and very messy and nasty. I give him the benefit of doubt with this nasty part of his life but I dont deserve this emotional blackmail in silence. I have been his rock, best friend, secretary for court documents and lover through it all. We have heaps in common, we travel regularly and he talks of future travelling but never about moving in together. He is anti marriage and said earlier in the relationship that he wouldn't live with anyone but that was 3 years ago. Time flies and nothing has been bought up again since. It seems that this silent treatment is a pattern for him. We dont fight but if I say something that may offend him then the silence starts and last 2-3 weeks. I'm pretty much past all of the crap but wonder if it's worth hanging in there. My life is great and I have other interest that I peruse..... just never had to deal with silent treatment before and how long to put up with it...loo

I just want to say thank you, I really appreciate what you are doing. I only found your channel about an hour ago, and I've been watching all of your videos, and your advice and perspective really make a lot of sense to me. One of my struggles has been not being interested in any man since my spiritual awakening a couple years ago. I just recently met someone who has just completely set my heart on fire, and I find myself struggling with reverting back to old ways because I have never experienced dating or interest or a relationship with my newfound self (after spiritual awakening). It's like I am learning all over again, but am trying to keep myself in alignment with all I have become, if that makes sense. It's funny how much I have realized from your videos with you spelling everything out, because I notice when I am staying true to myself and focused on myself everything is perfect but when I find myself starting to doubt or worry things aren't as great. Anyway, thank you lol. 😘
@VixenDaily5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment, I really appreciate it. I think the lesson in this new relationship will be in maintaining that connection with the true "you" within, who you've found... We can get emotionally attached to wants... wanting things to be a certain way, wanting them to be a certain way or do certain things, wanting the story to play out a certain way... That wanting and insisting on things being some other way than as they are now... that causes us to suffer. Like you said, you saw that when you start to doubt or worry (which is largely your mind conjuring up images to compare reality to and feel bad about), then that's when you experience suffering (versus when you stay true to yourself and focused on yourself). Your joy is a very wise teacher. There is so much more joy within life than just what a partner can give us... so when you're with your partner you can be enjoying them, but when you're apart you can make your life an exploration of just how much joy you can find in living.

If he's not that into you, yeah, he's not going to miss you. If he's extremely, extremely busy or stressed, his mind might be on other things he has to deal with at the moment and so he's going to be caught up in those things. Becareful of this. Are you giving space but always available when he wants to talk - thats not balanced. I gave space and enjoyed an exciting life like jet skiing, bbqs, time with friends and he called me a party girl. Huh, I dont drink and home by 11.30pm. Controlling narcissists are rife out there ladies, becareful.
@VixenDaily4 жыл бұрын
I agree with you on the point about balance. When I recommend giving him space, it's in the context that you yourself have a life you love, that entertains you, engages you and fills you up. In order to be great in a relationship, you need to be able to fill yourself up so you "show up full" and bring that happiness into the relationship. Your partner needs to be able to recharge his batteries as well, so to speak, so he can bring his happiness into the relationship as well. If he's calling you a party girl unironically and intends to restrict your behavior, yes that's usually a red flag. It doesn't mean he's a full-blown narcissist, but it is something that should be addressed intelligently. At the core, both people need to be capable of living a life of their own that fulfills them and brings them happiness. That's the only way they'll be able to build a happy relationship together. It's self-destructive to the relationship if one partner demands the other stop doing the things that bring them happiness. Sometimes, though, their demands are coming from a place of genuine concern and desire to create a good relationship with you. Other times it's coming from a place with selfish intentions and they cannot be reasoned with. Before concluding someone is a narcissist, it's good to openly discuss what their concerns are. If their concerns are towards building the best relationship and commitment with you possible, then they're worth hearing out. If they're selfish or he refuses to explain himself (or worse, takes on punishing behaviors like going emotionally cold or threatening you if you don't oblige his demands), then those are definitely bad signs! In a situation like that, you're doomed if you oblige the demands at face value. If you give up the things in your life that bring you happiness and fill you up, you'll be drained and unhappy, which will not only make you miserable but destroy the relationship itself eventually (after a long period of misery). Your only hope is to openly discuss his true concerns and vision for the relationship and reach some kind of understanding of what each of you needs. But that's not always possible. This is, however, where you want to aim in a situation like that.

Love is a delicate but crazy thing. There are no strategies to making a man fall in love with you. You can upgrade yourself so much and a man will still not love you. It's also bull crap about being happy. Fake happiness if you are not? I suffered from depression and the person that loved me, still loved me and accepted me. I won't fake a good mood for any man. I was dating a guy for a few months after I had final felt like I had become the best version of myself. He's going through a lot at the moment: An amicable divorce, kid out of state, contemplating moving back home and personal stuff that I believe is all causing him to be slightly depressed and down on his luck and turn inward. We started out super fast and had a great connection. We get along really well, have tons of fun together and have great chemistry, but ultimately he said he wasn't ready for a relationship after 5 months and needed to work on himself and setting goals for what he wanted for the new year. I totally respect this and get it, because I was once there too after a divorce. I still really like him and like him as a person and there was nothing wrong with us except for timing and him not being ready which caused him not to give me 100% of himself in the relationship. It almost makes it harder to move on. He's texted me about random things that made him think of me and likes and comments on my social media posts. It's confusing to me, even though I know time means you need time and that won't change things. I'm trying to distance myself and have no contact allowing him to see how amazing I was but also give myself the time to heal, move on and make myself the best version of myself again. I guess I want to know that if timing was bad and someone wasn't ready to be committed due to timing and circumstances, is there a chance that something could work out again?

It reall depends about the situation. Space also makes a man realize that they can live without you. When i was traveling for 3 weeks (we were still talking through text all the time i was gone), all of a sudden my husband texted me for a divorce cuz he realized that he can live without me. We've been having problems for months its because i dont give what he wants. So Space can make a man miss you and wants to get back or it can make the man leave you forever

Yes... the thing about space is that you have to really give him that space psychologically too. Sure, you might not be in contact, but if he feels like there's pressure from your side that he HAS to be in contact or he HAS to do this or that, then that's not really space. That's just not being in communication... Space is when he knows you're totally 100% good on your own, you're happy, you're fine, you're having a good time... there's no "problem"... THAT is space. So you have to reflect on that... would you say your LDR is like that, where it's very light and both of you are happy in your own lives, no pressure, no problems, no stress?

What if you start going through a very tough time in your life? What if it started off really well, but something unforeseen happens, and it takes work to always be in a good mood?
@VixenDaily4 жыл бұрын
It's OK to have a tough day or tough week or even tough month. It happens. The big point I want to get across is that your mood matters. If you're a person who's generally happy and in a good mood, you'll have been naturally investing that happiness into the relationship over time. Your partner will know you are a happy person going through a tough time and it will be easy to cut you slack. The big thing to be aware of is how important it is to be in a good mood as your normal state so that, when the bad days come, it's easy for your partner to give you credit, be understanding, be supportive, etc. because they the relationship is already so "full" with good energy.

Giving him space during this pandemic is it fine?? I mean he didnt ask for space. But when this pandemic started on our country, we talk less. Unlike before we are talking everyyy single day even if he’s at work. Now, there were days that we are not talking. We are not a couple yet but before this pandemic we used to go on coffee dates, and we also told ourselves that we like each other but we dont want to be in a hurry as both of us dont wanted to get hurt again like what we felt with our last relationships that ended couple of months ago (both of us) I need advice 😭

@@tinyah6208 we all get mad. Confused and angry, and say things we don't mean.. we need to watch what we say, we have to train ourselves how to communicate and not use hurtful words. We have to teach our loved ones this as well. If he means it, he will certainly show you. Nobody deserves an emotional slap in the face either. Know your worth and importance! And make people respect you, especially the one u love and claim love u.

If you are broken up, the best thing you can do is watch the "How to get your ex back" playlist and the "No contract rule" playlist on this channel. It will explain a ton in great detail and answer a lot of the questions you have right now. I hope you watch them and I hope they help a lot!

What if your ex battles depression and anxiety as much as you do? We were anchors in the beginning and somehow got lost along the way. He broke it off with me because I didn't understand why he was distancing himself from me and wouldn't communicate things either. I'm glad I found this channel and its helping me understand but it's complicated if we both have a slight mental illness. I am currently trying the no contact rule rn also. Any advice along side this I need to be aware of?

What can you say if he texts you he misses you? Sometimes I think it is just words and no action.
@VixenDaily5 жыл бұрын
Why do you think it's words and no action? I feel like if you're asking me this, a part of you doesn't feel like it's genuine from him and that's the real reason you don't know how to respond... which makes it hard for me to give you a response since that's a whole different conversation, you know?
@nataliedomanicoreportingin11635 жыл бұрын
@@VixenDaily We have been on and off for 7 years. So I don't feel it's genuine. I have recently asked him if he would give us a chance at a relationship. He will text things like, "I miss you." He said just the other day, "I have always loved you." He sent me one that said, "You ready?" Meaning he's entertaining for us to have a relationship. I texted back "Yes." He texted, "I always knew it was going to be me and you." And then there is radio silence. These texts all came within the past month. He never asks me out, though. He will sometimes come over, but that's it. It's very rare. He's introvert, strong silent type, a former marine and can be very sensitive. He is always sending me songs to communicate with me how he feels. When he tells me he misses me, it really pulls at my heartstrings. I would love for him to take me seriously. He will go a week to 10 days without texting and sometimes we've gone months. I have dated people in between and so has he. But I am so emotionally, spiritually and physically attracted to him. we've prayed together in the past and have gone to church together. It's very hard. He is raising his grandson and his priorities are different right now.

Is the 2 weeks no communication will be effective ? I have a 3 yrs no label relationship and i asked him again a week ago why he can't commit, his reason is he is not ready for the responsibility of a partner like updating etc. But he is a annulled man, but still he is pursuing me.
@VixenDaily5 жыл бұрын
Doing 2 weeks of no contact is going to be pointless unless you face the real problem at the root. The real problem is that for 3 years you've been participating in a relationship dynamic that isn't what you actually want. He says he doesn't want to be in an official, committed relationship and you've accepted that and acted like his committed, exclusive girlfriend anyway. If you think about it, why would he act any different at all? He said he doesn't want commitment and you demonstrated that you're OK with that and will just act like you are anyway. So the real issue here is that you're not willing to say no to what you don't want. And I have to imagine the reason is that you believe that if you said "no thanks" and walk away, he will let you go... What does that tell you?
