His training makes him a lot more graceful than what we see boys do which is why even in VIXX's choreos, N has a touch of feminity mixed with masculinity of the steps itself, making it somewhat but obviously not completely androgynous. So when he does a girl group dance, he is not afraid to unleash the actual feminity of the choreo itself. We see this the best in his So Hot cover and Hush's cover as well.

I don’t mind if boy groups move the key down to fit their voices, cause some boys can’t go as high, or if they change the gender the song sings too. I don’t care if girl groups change the key of the songs to fit their higher voices or change the gender the song sings too. It’s when the boy groups over exaggerate the dance moves, or they like do it wrong on purpose. Cause if you see girls groups covering boy group songs and dances, they do it so well, but you turn around and watch a lot of the boy groups do girl groups, a lot of the times they’re messing around. It’s a little disrespectful and I hope that they start doing the dances correctly and politely. You’re not any less manly doing cheer Up by Twice, than you are doing Love Shot by Exo (I thought of a girly dance and sexy dance of the top of my head)

Tbh I think (some) boy groups decide to sing in a lower key because they can't reach the female key throughout the song? I might be wrong because I don't really look for male covers of female group songs. But VIXX is blessed and talented enough to have such great vocalists who could reach high ranges effortlessly

After watching one too many cover compilations where the entire comment section was full of people with sticks up their butts saying that no group except for Stray Kids and SVT cover girl group songs """""correctly"""", I had to come watch this as a palette cleanser. Because heaven's sakes, if someone wants to have fun and be silly with a cover, let them! If anything, they're making fun of THEMSELVES, not the original group. If the guy's gonna look awkward either way, why shouldn't he embrace it while going all out? Besides, a girl crossdressing and wearing a suit and tie for a cover does not have the same overall effect of a guy wearing a crop-top, skirt, and heels, ok, it just doesn't, and to pretend it does is just disingenuous. Everyone was having a great time with VIXX's cover of So Hot, I didn't see a single person in that audience who seemed offended or disapproving, and they won first place in that contest, so clearly they were doing something right, but people 7 years later are so quick to throw VIXX under the bus and label them as "disrespectful" for that cover, I just don't get it. 🙄 VIXX do great covers, and I'm still salty we still don't have a studio version of Red Flavor so I can listen to it whenever the mood strikes me.

I don't think changing the lyrics is disrespectful. I don't personally do it but I understand why others do. Changing the key is also not necessarily disrespectful either, if you have to adjust it to reach it do that. Making extreme changes to the key for fun and empathizing the dance moves is pretty dirty though. Obviously, VIXX does a wonderful job when covering songs, they treat it like they would their own.
