@@ramborums I agree with you Ram that Chitra Amma as well sings with no attitude but when she reaches the high range, her facial expressions make us feel like, she is struggling and also sometimes it looks very unpleasant, otherwise Chitra Amma is also equally as good as other top singers in India. However, Janaki Amma is the most versatile singer in India, next comes Asha Bonsle etc. I am only talking about versatility, not tonal quality. If Tonal quality is the criterion, our own Susheela Amma stands on the top.

I specifically mentioned Chitra mam because of her expressions in the top registers, which is natural for her. What I meant was it doesnt have to be a bland expression for no-alatal singing like SJ.
