I saw him in Manchester, many years later than this performance, it was his yearly Christmas tour , the drummers were amazing, they worked so hard to create that beat , many times during the performance Gary stood between them with a large bottle of water in each hand and poured it overthem , the drum tone changed with all that water on their drums , but it was brilliant , ......not good to hear about his perversions, but in his time he was a brilliant showman

Damn,me listening to this song knowing the singer is a child molester should I be so judgemental on R Kelly on what he did and not listening to his music, hell no because in R Kelly's music in most of his song when he talking about having sex with girls you don't if he's talking about underage girls or not ,but this song he's not talking about banging little girls, yes he's a sick freak but I don't listen to his music,I only like this song

My take on this comment is not that he is justifying what this man has done just simply saying that you can appreciate an art form or an artist without letting there personal issues or what they have done get in the way. If you listen to the music created you are not condoning what they have done in there personal life but simply appreciating what was done in there creative one.

Gary Glitter made some pretty cool music in the 70's and obviously he became the type of man most of us don't want to be (I'm being polite). That doesn't mean the music is no good - music, good music outlives it's creators.

Saw him in 1973 at Southampton Gaumont aged 10. Me and my mate were taken there by his 13 year old 'responsible' cousin (Clare Bryant, on the 47 bus). What a fantastic concert - still got the programme. Wizard and Sweet were a distant second place at the time. Gary is the King of Glam Rock - and what a band. I feel sorry for Gerry Shepherd (singer of Glitter Band) et al - they should be proud of great songs and a unique trail-blazing (timeless) sound - but nobody wants to know
