When I was still a noob this was my most favorite tank. It's "noob friendly" as you can get out of danger quickly or even chase down a light tank that's giving you problems. Use the speed to your advantage, but don't let it get you into trouble by getting you too far out in front of your mates. This is not a front line tank, it's more of a support tank so remember that!

Thank U to release my favorite "forgotten gem". I can compare it to Cromwell. Same alpha, same pen, same speed, camo, view range. Bit less turret traverse, bit more accurate gun (at least for me). I loved to play with it. Btw. I use rotation mech, rammer, and optics/vents on it.

One of my favourite. I also remember comparing it to the Cromwell. I was playing the Cromwell, and was thinking that having a bit more accurate gun, with a faster shell, would be good. Then I found this tank. Also, it has a bit more view range. I use vents, optics, and rammer. Playstyle is an hybrid of support medium, and a scout. This tank is an underdog.

mistake in the title: VK 30.02 D should be VK 30.01 D I played this tank a lot in 2015-2017. When I stopped playing I was at 87% You are right: Gunhandling is very very bad, especially when moving. Apart from that, it's good. AP is sh1t. APCR is much better. But I had a free to play account and played with standard munition. I used to like it very much but now it's playable/good. one to ten I'd give it a 6.5 haha

It would be very good if you could expand the index in such way. People generally would love looking at different stats of different tanks. (For example rating mobility, firepower, armour, spotting capability etc. different from each other as you said.)

This was my first tier 6 and the first tank that I could have the third mark, I remember that it didn't fail as much as now, maybe they changed the dispersion on the move to give a more noticeable difference to the Pz Schum. Thanks Skill for bringing back these somewhat forgotten tanks.

Like the Cromwell, this tank has too much bloom to be a snap-shooter. With both tanks, if you take the time to aim, they're accurate. I loved the Cromwell, it was my favorite tier 6 until I found the VK 3001D which, for me, is superior. The gun has a higher shell velocity, one of the things that's a major problem with the Cromwell. The VK is almost as fast, it's a little more accurate, and it has better view range. The armor is minimal, like the Cromwell's, but while they both have the same thickness, the Cromwell's is flat and the VK's is slanted. Yes, neither tank has much armor, but I find in play that for every shot the Cromwell bounces, the VK bounces three. This can add up. And since I love to blindfire (thank you Skill for teaching me It's value), the VK, unlike the Cromwell, especially the premium, I never have to worry about having enough. Yes, the T-34-85M is the best tier 6 tank. But for someone who likes the advantages of speed (especially seeking damage and escaping) and the ability to scout when I want to, this is the tank for me. Equipment: Optics, rammer, aim laying (which I much prefer to the rotation mechanism). My favorite tier six tanks: VK-3001D, A43, Hellcat.)

Well by "armor" phase u can almost count on ur 2 hands the tanks which actually have relevant protection in nowadays' goldspamming era... All the rest are the same "non-existent" category... :(

I played this tank with IRM, optics and rammer. It helps with actually hitting your shots while peeking because without the IRM I had a horrible time doing that and for long rage you really have to sit there and aim. For the index having a system with the characteristics of each tank rated would be really great but also a lot of work. What you said sounds like a very good idea.

stars system would be a great idea, instead of 4 adjectives, the stars will be less subjectiv than words. For me, we should have 6 or 7 "5 - stars" notations : gun accuracy/reliability (aiming and dispersion), gun's power (alpha, dpm, penetration, shell velocity, ammunition type and depression), mobility (rotation, power/weight, speed), armor (track repair time, HP, overall armor), vision (concealement & spot capacity) and ability to be mastered and why not ability to make credits or something like that. Why not add a global note as "combination of the things" as U say every daily dose of U, have a nice day !

I use gun laying drive on this tank and it seems to work much better, tried rotation mechanism but the tank already turns fast and turning even faster seems to counter the handling bonus from it.

The bad-epic scale is a star system that goes from 1 to 4, so it's the absolute same. Doug De Muro idea is on the other hand quite good, although I couldn't tell you how much more work that would be for you and if it's therefore worth it.

IRM seems to be a better fit than improved aiming I'd say, as the bloom is the problem (plus it would make the tank even more agile). I'd ditch rammer for optic on the second open map setup if you want to keep playing it (maybe even have exhaust optic vent setup for kinky vision god setup)

The gun handling is indeed derpy, though not that bad from my experience with about 300 battles with the vk. I enjoyed the tank a lot from before vk p, brother from another mother, became a heavy. Used to love the german tier 6 meds

Their answer would probably be "to ease the transition to the playstyle of the next heavies in the branch", which is still moronic imo since vk was great as a med and was a good transition, a hidden gem before the hunk of garbage that Tiger P was, is and will be. The change happened around April 2020 I think

From my experience the gun on 3001D is accurate when sitting still but never try to pull out any snapshot because the dispersion when moving & turning will drive you crazy XD.

The 2nd tank I got 3 marked, it played like a gem. I can't remember the gun was this horrible tho. In my memory it is very accurate. The viewrange is a plus on this one especially with a decent crew and also the agility.

I think rotation mechanism is way to go on this tank in mobility slot since the bloom is insane without it. And I dont think it can use vert stabs(?)

Think of this as a German Cromwell who's turret isn't made out of ammo racks. Slight disadvantage in gun depression, but the gun handling is better One of the best at tier vi

This is an old favorite of mine. I used it in Strongholds in lieu of a Cromwell. It would help gun handling if you're crew was better. It's better than the Crom in long range, almost as fast and a little better armor ... relatively. I still prefer it to the Cromwell Berlin, but I use the Crom because of the credit earning, the ability to run an even better crew. This 30.01D is really good, still have it and drive it. Again, if you want better gun handling, run a better crew. ;)

I have never played the .01 D, but I absolutely loved the .02 M in the tech tree. I looked, and the characteristics of the two tanks in the top config are about the same, with the exception of hit points (more for the .02 M) and speed (.01 D is faster). I had just over 1.9k combined in my play through the .02 M in 38 games... I may have to get the .01 D and give it a shot.

The VK 30.01 D is IMO one of the best looking tanks in the game, and it is a Mercedes. Nevertheless, I switched to VK 30.02 M, because I wanted a Panther (sounds weird, but the ingame tank called "Panther" is a typical WG fantasy mashup). The gun handling in the video looked terrible. The dispersion on the move for the VK is bad but other tier 6s have this problem as well (Cromwell, even the allmighty T-34 85M). At tier 6 accurate guns are rare, maybe the swedish Strv 74.

Sara N Tune has a system for the Speed of the cars She reviews... "Give it the Beans" ! For a really fast Corvette, She might rate it at 4 Beans. For a Ford Pinto, 1 Bean. But yes, some type of rating system like Doug Murano uses might not be a bad ideal.

Please do video on Skoda T40 - little brother of TVP/VTU and yes ... again.. the title... one can get so confused on all the VK30.0X(Y) in german tech tree. But this is a collectors vehicle and rarely seen on battlefield. Thanks for the show case Mr Skill. Before I get it from the store I will have a second look on it. Gun is actually the same as on VK30.02M (little Panther) in tech tree, but the M has a better soft stats on movement and rotation.

What about changing the rating system to a scale from 1-100? 0-20 = bad, 21-40 = playable, etc. that way you can differentiate tanks that have the same rating

The stars rating system is pretty great in my opinion but what's even better is to make wot blitz version of index page too as I'm blitz player and I believe much more guys watching your videos play blitz too it might be useful too. Btw tanks on blitz are balanced a bit different than on pc version, obviously.

Omg skill is a Doug DeMuro fan! TBH, you can split the rating into categories, so let’s say mobility, gun, camo, armor and so on, and then maybe have a max of 3 stars each? Maybe 5, but 5 feels a bit much. Maybe you could also add something like a “recommended play style”. So the leo would be somewhat sniper, the e50m would be close range brawler and so on.

Improved aim device is changing radically some tanks. I'll talk again about my hellcat (5.2k games), i marked it long ago, around 2018,and from there things went down so fast. I arrived to lose down to 82% moe... Then i dropped binocs and started using IAD... Oh boy it radically changed. I got up to 97% again, getting in the top 25 in Europe. It must have kind of hidden stats buffed or something when using it... I marked my PZ 3/4 thanks to it.

I like the idea of expanding the rating system for tanks on your excellent site, but I'm not sure if a star system per vehicle attribute would be very useful for people like me who just want to know what I should be performing well in. I guess maybe the way you could do it is rate the tanks according to type of player, if that was something you could manage, but how to do that, I'd defer to you. Also why stars and not bananas?

This tank is playable in the best case scenario, because for a f2p player who is most likely not able to use the extra rations the gun handling will be a lot worse than how it went in your 1st 2 games. The VK 3002 D on the other hand has a lot better gun handling for some reason.

With a great crew and equipment the tank is epic in all tier 6-7 matches ( gun is working brilliant with all the skills). In a tier 8, it’s good as long as you support from the back and try to not move t much between shots (also called bush camping). So overall epic for me. Better than Cromwell.

My thinking is that with BIA, you can do everything better, but with camo, you can do stuff that you can't without. You can sneak up closer on the enemy and get positions that you can't get without camo.

The setup with improved aiming instead of coated optics is unrealistic for 99% of the tier 6 players cause credits-wise they cannot afford to use a premium consumable all the time.

I think vk is a good tank. It is fast and that makes it very flexible in the game. The gun is OK but the Russian number generator makes the gun not work sometimes. Over all itsa a good yank and I have a 4 skill crew in it

it is your play style... you shoot, you move. this gun is fine for sniping from camouflage (and not move), up close you can rely on mobility and reload speed. this aint a russian op shit, you cannot snap shoot all the red team with 0,5 aim and two times dmg gun...

I very rarely equip my tanks with the gun rammers. 10% only faster loading is not that great unless you hold the left mouse button during the whole game. I don't think this is the most important thing to have for me. Proof of this: the Badger. What is the point to reload as fast as possible if the platform is not good and you cannot hit your shots?... Unles your a pro of course.

For me VK 30.02 M performs better, especially in terms of gun handling and armor.
