Yeah, looking forward to the rail version of that, though FWIW I've definitely been really happy with the normal STECS as well. Sucker for linear throttles though, so will probably upgrade once it comes out. Someone will end up with a cheap STECS Standard, hehe.

I like my STECS Standard (although would rather see precise axes on the grips instead of those encoders), but I can't choose any other module really. Most of them are very button heavy, e.g. THQ - 3 axes (good), but then just 8 buttons - no variability. Of course, buttons are also good, but there is not a single switch, 2-way or 3-way, latched or momentary. K-switches on SEM are kinda 3-way switches, but the action of the middle button is very hard... in the end it's just 3 buttons integrated. The real switch has also visible and touchable position. In the end I wish for some standalone panel around the size of STEM (or a bit bigger), with some modularity perhaps? Of course, it doesn't have to be (nor should be) a copy of any Virpil panel, that's already in the market, but I'm curious whether/when VKB comes with something universal and more various than current extension modules. That said... STECS is great. Not perfect, but great. I like it a lot.

@dcsunscripted *Concur. The #2 grip would be platform for an exchange of switches:* I'd like a four-way momentary for RADIO, a two-way momentary for BRK. MB1 and MB2 could hold five-way momentaries for, respectively, SEAM/PTD and Cage/IREO. The #1 grip is set for Flaps and A/G Stores Select. (I've longlisted the ST⩥ECS in case Throttletek won't put a five-way and a three-way in, respectively, the SEAM and CAGE grips.)

I love my STECS! Only one thing that bothers me: the joystick on the side. I wish that would be on the front (but smaller, like that on the NXT EVO, the left one, that can be mapped as axis aswell!) Any plans for a purchasable module? :-)

How come I haven't received a blue rubber pad with my STECS, as shown in 0:47? Is it an editing error? Blue is not even mentioned in the description on the VKB store.

Can the panel modules (stem in particular) plug directly into PC? Or must they be plugged into the throttle base?

From what I've heard the analog modules are the same, but the current firmware doesn't support the 5-way switch option. Main benefit of the compatibility is being able to use the better pyramid cap from the MCG instead of the cone one on the STECS, so that you can more easily tell directions. The smaller, button modules are completely different, and much much smaller. Those can be "just" push button, 3-way or 5-way.
