Yayo is the definition of not judging a book by its cover, dude aligned himself with the best and understood right from the jump that he had something special, he kept his head down and didn't take advantage of 50 when everyone else was riding the wave. Most of his music was pretty dooky but he still did his thing and will always be remember as a legend.

I also met 50 cent once, as a journalist. It was a room full of people and we were asking G-Unit and 50 about their EP. I was clearly the youngest in the room, only about 20 at the time, and 50 Cent took my question, answered it thoroughly, and gave me a wink after. Lol. When the press conference concluded he made a beeline towards the door. I asked him to take a picture with me, he walked a bit back and actually took a bunch of pictures with me and dapped me up. I also interviewed Young Buck later and it's clear that 50 can be very tough in business and on his team as well as frequently going to war. But there is a reason for his success. And part of it his very intelligent understanding of how long professionalism and class goes. As a result of our one interaction I have a very positive view of 50 Cent and as an actual fan of his music I'll support him his whole career.

Year 2006. Country, Portugal. 50 Cent made a concert in Portugal, and I went to see it. One of the opening acts, was a portuguese rapper, i happened to know him. That night, i didn't talk with the rapper that i knew, but end up talking with one of his entourage hommies. Dude is also a rapper, but i didn't knew him personally, but he was cool with some of the people i was with. I never forget him saying to us that Mobb Deep was a complete disappointment to him, but 50 Cent was an extremely polite, cordial and friendly. So, it is true...
