Aquascaping TUSKS (extinction)

THESE ARE NOT REAL TUSKS!!! They are made of wood. Of course you know that :)
Hey guys! Welcome to my new video,I hope you'll like it. This aquascape represents fossilized tusks of some prehistoric animal. The tusks are in a shallow river and stick out of the water,plants grow around the tusks and fish swim between them. How accurate this scene can be I’m not sure, but this is art and everything is allowed :) Are these mammoth or mastodon tusks or even woolly rhino horns??? I'll leave that to your imagination ;)
Anyway, I'm fascinated by prehistoric animals and that's why I decided to make one aquascape on that subject...

Love this, can’t wait to see it grow in - Pogostemon Stellata and Blyxia Japonica are two of my favourite plants, beautiful... I’m amazed how delicately the tusks are balanced - I’d knock them over first time I did maintenance! Did you add any extra bracing to hold them or they are just balanced on those small rocks?

Simplicity at its finest. Really awesome. Have you thought about the impact of not using clay based soil? Maybe you might have to stick to a fairly strict fertilization regime once the nutrient substrate below depletes since there is no buffer(soil) to hold nutrients when surplus and gradually release when deficit. But again, for a guy who has successfully mastered plants under direct sunlight, this shouldn't be a problem. All the best.

i will try a mini replica of your tusks. with little soil around the wood and filling the remaining foreground space with river sand, i will use monte carlo, s.repen, riccardia.

Could I ask what sand did you use? I used fine grain and after turning the filter on it blew all the sand all of handscape and plants

These are still in the water :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3LGiYl3mblmp80 If you are unsure, put the stainless steel screws in a container of water first ,for a few days. In another container put a ordinary screw and you will see the difference.

Have you discovered cyanoacrylate glue yet? 😂 And have you looked into submerged stainless steel in low oxygen environments and how they dissolve faster than regular steal or iron if they are submerged? Because stainless steel uses passivation by oxidisation to stop itself corroding, under water it dissolves in months because under water obviously less oxygen than above.. thats why they dont use stailess steel on yachts below the waterline...

Come to think of it, stainless steel isnt just steel, its a mixture of highly toxic metals mixed with steel 😂 so its literally a little time bomb slowly poisioning fish and it releases those toxic metals faster each day with time as passivation is destroyed atom by atom.. 😂 no metal in tanks folks, not stainless nothing, im no fish tank expert, but i am a chemical engineer who refines toxic metals through passivation and oxygenation.. so i am an expert in knowing dont put stainless screws underwater ever. Your better off with galvanised screws and cover them with glue as they do not need o2 to passivate and not rust, so they wont dissolve underwater just cover them in glue so they dont touch water, and no glue will not stop stainless dissolveing under water by preventing the warer touching it, it will make it dissolve faster as stainless needs o2 to passivate.. skip screws alltogether and just buy $3 cyanacrylate glue gel, its fish safe and sets in 10 seconds and works on wet wood and wet stone and wet plants..
