I relate this to Will Smith's incident with Chris Rock and my own experience as a standup comic. People don't realize how mean some comics really are (this is two examples of Foxx's behavior. Lookup Patrice O'Neal, one of my favorite comics, but known to be a huge asshole in real life). It's because alot of comics are depressed people and use comedy as an outlet. In addition, comedy is essentially criticizing, judging and insulting people and reality. Comedy can be a form of bullying if not done correctly. On social media we've cyber bullied Will Smith and family for over a year, in an attempt to be humorous, (making and sharing hurtful memes) about their personal relationship that they exposed so we could learn how to overcome family problems. I'm not saying this to excuse Will Smith's behavior, but to open people's eyes to the true danger in standup comedy and the power of our words. Specifically, roasting people who didn't ask to be roasted. Mental Health is real and many people, especially comedians, suffer from mental health issues. And as the saying goes, "hurt people, hurt people". Another example you can examine is the MTV show Catfish. A majority of the people who conduct the scam are people who have been hurt in life and have mental health issues (low self esteem) who are making poor decisions to cope with their pain, and most of which were not truly intending to hurt the other person although that was the end result. It's a vicious cycle and I pray we open our minds to learn to be kinder to one another and seek mental health services so we break the cycle of hurt. To create a better society. Let's be quick to understand and slow to judge as none of us are perfect. I hope Chris and Will both heal, learn, take accountability, forgive and receive forgiveness. It's easy to judge like we are perfect, but we've all made a mistake we can be judged about. And I'm sure we've also taken accountability for those mistakes and chose not to repeat them. Thus, we deserve forgiveness and with that understanding should be willing to forgive. I hope we learn to be more understanding to all sides so we can resolve conflict better. To Err Is Human, thus we all deserve forgiveness. Especially if we are willing to be accountable. I leave you with this, you never truly know how much someone is hurting inside and close to ending their life ( ie Robin Williams). It cost nothing to be kind and understanding and we have kindness and understanding in unlimited supply. Share this with your community and see how much better it becomes and the lives you save and change for the better. Break The Cycle.

I don't know why everyone is saying the interviewer is "trying to start something" when he's literally Quoting the book!! And quoting another person he interviewed!!

One incident away.... You get enough of those and shit happens... Boy Will Smith probably can writ a book on that....

Rick James at McDonald's... is hilarious. Fire and Desire melody "Give me a large order of french fries, baby. And I want a Big Mac, sugar. I want some chicken mcnuggets and a strawberry shake. And, I want my change, baby. I want my change." Tommy is ridiculously funny.

I’m glad Tommy took the wheel and steered the conversation in a different direction

I can guarantee you that Jamie Foxx would not have the success he has now without the scenes he did with Tommy. Tommy brought out the best scenes with him and energetically was on the same level as Jim Carrey, if not more and funnier. I always felt like him and David Alan Grier deserved better careers considering the talent they had
@markbrooks59302 жыл бұрын
Absolutely deserved better careers..just like a 9 to 5 , the most talented person is never made manager/superior. Its always a ( obvious to everyone except corporate) lesser talented a-hole like Jamie whose is elevated to higher success...

Honestly I feel that Jaime knew Tommy was a TOP TIER Comedian even way back then ( a Threat) - we've only seen a fraction of Tommy Davidsons comedic genius 👑 🎭

One if the best sketch comedy bits of all time was Tommy and Jamie as doormen. LMFAO that show was better then SNL at that time. My dad and I used to watch it all the time and just loved it so much.
