The Pied Piper if I remember the fairytale correctly was a dude that was hired by a town to get rid if their rat infestation (which was big thing back in the day because rats in real life caused Ike a global pandemic with the bubonic plague). Anyway, the pied Piper used his flute to basically enchant the rats into following him out of the town. After he got rid of the rats the town people refused to pay him so he played his flute again and enchanted all the children and led them out of the town too. Something like that.
