Good and Bad's of being an Immortal Technique Fan Bad 1. Distance between releases vs.typical mainstream artist 2. Trolls and uninformed people criticizing everything 3. Having to do hours of research to understand a lot of the lyrics you hear 4. Lack of presence compared to regular artist in concert settings 5. Having to find anything else musically that compares Good 1. Being emotionally involved in not just music but historical facts 2. Amazing beats and rhymes 3. Knowledge 4. Not having to fear a weak/wack release of content 5. Wanting to be smart enough to comprehend the ill shit being rapped 6. Going to a concert were you feel the appreciation and respect for your choice in music 7. Having an opportunity to engage the artist after their show on multiple levels from talking to autographs to pictures 8. Not worrying you look ignorant when you're singing or rapping the lyrics of your favorite song. 9. Not worrying that if you share music with someone that you'll be looked down on in the future. 10.Knowing that one day you'll be a better human being for what you paid attention to musically

akvalues It is interesting to me how, when speaking of the original manuscripts, people can learn that Homer was written in 900 BC and there's only 643 original copies of those manuscripts, & most of those, written 500 years later. THE GALLIC WARS by Caesar? Over a time-span of a thousand year period, around 900 AD; number of manuscript copies? A mere 10! But, we don't argue with that, & no one says, "they never existed." Another example? Plato's TETRALOGIES: a 1200 year time-span, but we only have 7 copies of the manuscripts. 7! But, we don't question whether Plato ever existed. There is the Greek historian Herodotus: 8 original copies. Only 8! We don't question whether he existed. In the Bible, the New Testament? 24,000 of the original copies! yet people question whether or not if Jesus ever existed, yet there is MORE PROOF for the existence of Jesus than the existence of Plato, Homer, Caesar and Herodotus COMBINED!

Intellectual perhaps, but not influential. Tupac, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Eazy-E, Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, Will Smith, Nas, 50 Cent, R.A. the Rugged Man, DJ Quik, Proof, Ice Cube, The D.O.C, Sean Combs, Skepta, Big Pun, Slick Rick, Rakim, Melle Mel, Roots Manuva and Grandmaster Caz (just to name a few) are some examples of far more influential rappers. I love Immortal Technique and have nothing but respect for him, but I wouldn't say he is "probably one of the most influential" rappers.
@bobbico035 жыл бұрын
The Hip Hop Channel It really depends on the definition of the word. Does influential mean the magnitude of an individual impact or the quantity of people he reaches? See Immortal Technique has influenced me as person. He has help me grow intellectually, that is powerful. 50 cent, is cool, but he hasn’t really changed me, he is just not that deep. So, it really depends what you mean by influential. Yeah a bunch of people might know 50 cent, but what has he affected in their life, he might not have influenced people to do something. Where as Immortal might have only reached 1 percent of the audience that 50 has, but he might of changed those few individuals to think, to dare to question the system, to dream about revolutionary change, etc. That is what I would call influential. The definition you are thinking about is merely, popular or famous. How many lesser known people are there with huge influence like Martin Luther King Jr. Or Che Guevara, or Marcus Arelius, or Nitchese, or the Apostle Paul. There are lesser known individuals now a days by the general population, but you can’t deny the profound impact they had, that is true influentialism at its core, regardless of how well known they might be.

Holy shit. So I just found out about Immortal Technique and I thought I'd look up one of his interviews because he struck me as being really fucking smart just from hearing one song. God damn. I'm a senior in college right now and I'm majoring in Global Studies. It covers a pretty broad range of things like global history, cultural identity, nationalism, capitalism, imperialism, colonialism, socialism, terrorism, international policies, the list goes on. So I know all these things to certain degree, but even then it's taken years just to grasp the true scope of what they mean or what they're talking about. And I'm having trouble keeping up with this guy, I'm mean it seems like he knows this shit like the back of his hand. Definitely the most eloquently spoken rapper I've heard

Not even for a simple fucking water or cheese steak. Immortal Technique knows more than many so called professors in college. Also, more than politicians and religious leaders. I love and respect what he stands for! He is NOT phony and has " cojones/balls" like Tupac had. He is gorgeous, courageous, informative, educated, direct, on point, honest and should be invited to the next Congressional Hearing of police brutally on people of color. Congressman Gutierrez suggested last year that the younger generation and the mothers/wives of people murdered of officers, should be invited to shed light on their painful experiences. I totally agree with him and could NOT understand why people, scholars, professors, victims or family members of those who died at the hands of officers. The communities need to be heard, and those who have the best interest in creating change for all parties involved so that CHANGE can happen. We all need each other.

If Immortal Technique would've released more albums with the same type of historical truth knowledge he is famous for in his hip hop he for sure would have gotten himself assasinated by the DOD. I am just one person and listening to his rhymes literally played a role in my matureness and knowlegde of world history. I would listen to a rap verse and he always makes history references in his rhymes, I would then immediately research those references online and bam!!! Next thing you know I am feeding my brain real knowledge. Immortal Technique is a powerful rapper/poet/revolutionary bro real talk, a true Ernesto Che Guevara of his time, instead of war he uses music. I'll leave you with this verse from one of many gems Immotal has written, yall ain't ready for this lol! " I want fifty-three million dollars for my calloused hands Like the Bush administration gave to the Taliban And fuck packing grams, nigga, learn to speak and behave! You want to spend twenty years as a government slave? Two million people in prison keep the government paid Stuck in a six-by-eight cell, alive in the grave I was made by revolution to speak to the masses Deep in the club, toast the truth. Reach for your glasses I'll burn an orphanage just to bring heat to you bastards Innocent deep in a casket-Colombian fashion Intoxicated off the flow like thug's passion You motherfuckers will never get me to stop blasting You're better off asking Ariel Sharon for compassion You're better off begging for twenty points from a label You're better off battling cancer under telephone cables Technique chemically unstable, set to explode Foretold by the dead sea scrolls written in code So if your message ain’t shit, fuck the records you sold! 'Cause if you go platinum, it's got nothing to do with luck It just means that a million people are stupid as fuck Stuck in the underground, a general that rose to the limit Without distribution managers, a deal, or a gimmick Revolutionary Volume 2 murder the critics And leave your fucking body rotting for the roaches and crickets"
