Listen, I grew up in Chicago ( Englewood). In 1979 the Gangster Disciples took over our neighborhood. I tried my best to stay away from any gang activity but eventually I ended up involved. I became a member of the ABPSN in 1980. Needless to say, I fought a lot back then. I remember when the Folks used to be united under the banner of BGDN ( Black Gangster Disciple Nation). In the late "80's" things changed. The GD's and BD's went to war and they've been split ever since. In fact, the same thing happened with the Stones. We used to all ride together until Jeff Fort got out of prison and started the El Rukins. The El Rukins said that we could no longer call ourselves Black P Stones. We resisted and sometimes got into it with the Elders. What really seperated everything was the cocaine epidemic. Once crack hit our communities we were doomed. We went from fighting with our fists to picking up guns. I've lost a lot of people because of this gang shit and it's only getting worse. It's all bullshit! And let me explain. In the early "90's" damn near everyone was getting money. I can remember being on a flight to Las Vegas and the plane was mixed with some of the top guys from different gangs. Back then, we didn't socialize with guys from other Nations. So I was shocked to see the top guys laughing and being friendly to one another on the plane. I was confused and angry. Here it was, younger guys were on the street killing and shooting at each other while the top guys were having a good time in Vegas. Also, I've been in both prison systems ( State and Federal). There's no unity with the GDs and BDs or the Stones and Vice Lords. Don't get me wrong, nobody's warring with each other, but they're far from being together. Feel me? At the end of the day, the legal system is taking advantage of our people. They want us to continue killing each other so that they can get paid. They're making billions off of us! One day we will stop hurting each other. In the early 2000's things calmed down for a while. Hopefully we'll get back to those days.
