Joe Rogan wasn't even a big podcaster when that clip of him confronting Mencia went viral. It was 2007. Mencia was actually a bigger name at the time. That's why Rogan felt the need to confront him. And Aries right here proves my point. It's an unspoken generally known thing in comedy that people take from each other. Most of the time, it's voluntary, but there's only so many times there's so many ways you can tell a specific joke, so again when you steal a joke, it's got everything to do with all those elements, the cadence, the timing, even the verbage, even the tone of voice down. To you, either agreeable or a squeak. Like sometimes jokes ride on inflection. Jokes ride on intention, assertion and all those factors are different from comics to comi'm exquisite technology and you can see it when Erie says I don't condone it, but it's the nature of the Beast. So I guess it's very petty for Joe Rogan to have this vandetta and for everybody to keep perpetuating it when it's. It's almost like they're afraid that Carlos is gonna say. Mencia was wrong and that was deserved, but parallel thought is far too common amongst any creative professions. During studio sessions back in the mixtape/jackbeats era, when recording various artists in a single day, I've had different artists drop multipe identical lines to the point I had to let the artist know so they'd rewrite them. This happens alot, especially in a field that has its own language and age group. Alot of u know exactly what I'm talking about.

Joe confronting Mencia was not "unfair". This happened years before Joe Rogan became a household name. Mencia was a much bigger comic than Joe, and Joe was mostly known as the Fear Factor guy and MAYBE from the UFC and News Radio. Joe was definetly not punching down. Joe didn't start doing his podcast until 2009 and even then it didn't become this world wide thing until about 5-10 years later. Before that it was mostly just him and his stoner comic buddies talking about weird shit like aliens and time travel, and every once in a while he would have an MMA guest on.
