Part 1: • Michael Jai White on T...
--------
Hollywood action star Michael Jai White weighed in on the famous beef between fellow martial artists Steven Seagal and Jean-Claude Van Damme. According to an old story, Van Damme allegedly called out Seagal to a real fight after the latter insulted him at a house party hosted by Sylvester Stallone. Seagal reportedly backed down. It was pointed out that Van Damme was trained in martial arts before he even entered Hollywood, and was not afraid to spar with other professionals. Seagal, on the other hand, was more of a performer and not known to have considerable fighting prowess. White spoke highly of Van Damme's bravery and kindness, endorsing his fight credentials. He reasoned that Van Damme would most likely win if a real fight were to happen between the two icons.

He sees him like an actor and not a fighter wich is wrong because he is capable but he knows he is better than Steven. Skill of aikido can't be compared with shotokan karate or tae kwon do or some level of kickboxing Van Damme trainned and Van Damme is also superior in power. People need to understand no matter what they think about MJW he practices martial arts and knows who can do it and who can't. I can also say Steven is allways trying to put the skill of other martial artists down and that shows weakness and lack of confidence.

I'm not sure how much truth there is to it, but I had heard that Van-Damme was originally a gymnast but had taken a year or two of Taekwondo to learn some of the basics in order to help break him in to Hollywood. As a master of a$$ whooping for many decades, I can safely say that MJW is all mouth and would quickly learn how a true warrior finishes fights when his vertebrae would become severed after his first missed punch. Trust me, whatever Hollywood bromance these guys have won't save their lives when they encounter the real deal.

In Aikido, from what I know, you dont block punches. @westington1
@westington1 7 ай бұрын
@@michaelmyers3709Really? He has a black belt in Aikido for sure, but I doubt he has black belts in other things - he’s been out of shape for almost all of his career - even in his early movies, he lean but not muscular at all; you learn pretty quickly in any martial art (combat sport if you like), with regular resistance sparring, that you need to be strong enough, and have cardio enough, to be effective enough to compete and progress in that environment. Seagal has never looked like he has either - maybe he had slight cardio in his early days, but even then that develops muscle tone. So if he does have 3 other black belts - he’s legit as legit can be in aikido, but I’d go as far to say that’s a counter-productive art as far as fighting goes (as it gives a false sense of security at best, and a terrible idea of how fights go to the point of making you more venerable than if you are if untrained, at worst), so I’d be shocked, if he’s ever trained a martial art that involves and sense of reality based training exercises. Aka full resistance sparring of some kind, and we all already know what arts have that built in, and those that don’t.)

@@jonmacist He’s never had a professional MMA fight. He’s been challenged but hasn’t accepted. He claims to have black belts in seven different martial arts, and claims to know nine different martial arts. But I found nothing to that supports those claims. He claims to have studied Brazilian jiu-jitsu-though that’s not one of the martial arts in which he claims to have a black belt. He has no apparent training in either wrestling or Muay Thai, two other arts that are often the basis for MMA fighters. He also doesn’t claim to know Judo. or Sambo. The photos of him show a ripped, muscled person. In fact, too muscled for most MMA fighters. In a fight, those muscles need constant energy. I suspect that he’s too muscle-bound to be an efficient MMA fighter. And in reading about his workout routines, there’s little or no mention of any cardio. Their not a single evidence that MJW completed in full contact competition and is all base on his own words and also their was no fighter stay that MJW is a fighter and after his point sparring and he went straight to acting and he was a school teacher, showman , actor and Director, and have appeared over 62 films more than Van damme or Segal and 3 times more films than Bruce Lee.
@jonmacist
@jonmacist 6 ай бұрын
@@benselman6477 The 7 or 8 black belts would be easily found , and BJJ is one of them he studied that first, not much resherach you did and his main style is Kykoshin which is the most realistic and toughest style, so you dont know much, not only do they kick below the waist as well as high, they incorpate knees and elbows and low kicks, gee everything they use in MMA, plus he has legit boxing seperate, and in Kykoshin also fights full contact bare knuckle, punch to the body no gloves and kicks to the head and face which he did compete in as its mandatory in that style to fight to get promoted in the belts, most real styles even have mandatory full contact sparring to prove you can fight and not just learn the moves. He even told Scott Adkins in a interview that he upgraded his black belt in kykoshin and fought full contact, again and got hurt but did not tell the movie company he was working for at the time so he would not get in trouble. Besides you can see his skill level by the way he moves there are not too many 230lbs bodybuilders, doing wheel kicks flying side kicks and double triple kicks with speed and power. Its common sense he has the skills, fighting in a sport does not prove you can fight, can you win a street fight and save your life and your families life that is what matters. Plus you fault a guy for making 3 times more money doing movies and avoiding Brain damage, then trying to prove something fighting ina sport. Micheal already laughed saying his broke UFC friends keep asking him for money so who is more successful.
