Watch Full Interview: • Director Albert Hughes...
Part 9: • Albert Hughes on Seein...
Part 11: • Albert Hughes on Runni...
--------
In this clip, Albert Hughes shared his experiences working with the late Tupac Shakur and the controversies that ensued. While working on "Menace II Society," Hughes described that an argument occurred over Tupac's tendency to 'perform' during rehearsals which led to Tupac walking off the set. Hughes added that this controversy, along with the late arrival of the team, drove his brother Allen Hughes to finally 'stand up' to Tupac. Hughes insisted that Tupac was a good person who did a few bad things and recalled that his overbearing character was what led to the controversy. He also discussed Tupac's fanbase, comparing the iconic rapper's impact both domestically and worldwide to a religious figure. Hughes believes that Tupac's eventual exit from the film was meant to be and didn't obstruct either party's career path.

The way he described his brother, as the one who did all the fighting for the both of them, when they were kids. I'm thinking, that's probably the reason he ran away and left his brother by himself.( with the 2Pac situation)

I agree with him.. From all the books 📚📖 i read and documentaries i seen overall tupac seemed like a good dude that meant well even if he erred in the process in some areas. But we also have to remeber he was between the ages of 17- and barley into 25 ( the developmental ages ) but I believe he did pretty good due to his childhood and history! To rise out of all that and do what he did is INCREDIBLE! and yeah with a childhood liked his you're going to be a little bit crazy! Heck... even Malcolm X was a pimp and a pusher at one time but became one of the most rightoues men throughout history. FBI did top-notch surveillance on him and they couldn't find dirty on Malcolm at all! No other rapper did what Tupac did - Thug Life movement - code of thug life - in his interviews for the most part he spoke up for people of color , social issues , social justice , police brutality, etc.. - you can here the love and compassion in his music he had for the people , and also speaking up for people - the man has statues in Germany , he's on the back of public buses in different countries , and he has is on college courses in universities To get all that love and admiration you had to do something right while you were here on Earth 🌎 you dont see a whole lot of evil people on murals and paintings worldwide. " he had a heart that was huger than any , he was transformation influx , he a a vision that was a small Catholic c , and people were precisely attracted to Tupac because he was a person who is looking for the right way to articulate humanity in the mist of chaotic difficulty " - Dr. Micheal Eric Dyson " biggies gonna win if your talking flow , biggie was like a swinger or jazz musican , nas rhymes from the back of throat, Humpty hump rhymes from the nasal pallet, tupac rhymed from the pit of his stomach he pulled from all the great speakers dr. King and Malcolm X pouring those words out because he MEANT IT " - SHOCK G ✊ 👊

Albert is explaining things in more detail that makes a lot more sense now when you take what Allen said and how Tupac is. Lol crazy. I called Tupac a hood saint but he had his flaws he was also still young and even with all of his knowledge he was still learning. Nipsey was an actual hood saint.

For an atheist, he contradicted himself with that final statement. What he should've said is this: "My brother and I were the filmmakers. Tupac was an actor under our employment. He became difficult to work with. The difficulty of working with him could have compromised the project. For that reason, we let him go."

As I said before, Nipsey is a good legend & Tupac is a world wide legend. Tupac has a statue in Germany and use to have one in Russia. Vladimir Putins top aid back in like 2014-15 said they didn't care about America's sanctions because the only thing that was interesting about America was Tupac and that they could still access his work. America would never let it be known how big a black man was world wide. That's why they got rid of him.

Tupac didn't like the role because the original role of Shareef was he was a Muslim preaching about Allah and stuff, but he was also doing drugs and doing dirt. So the Shareef role basically had Tupac playing a Muslim who was a hypocrite. Tupac respected the Muslim religion so much he didn't want to show them in that negative light. Years and years ago I heard that from several people. Tupac had an issue with them trying to make Muslims look bad. So Tupac is no longer in the movie and Shareef role he is no longer a hypocrite. So imo they wanted Tupac to play that role as a sneaky way to make him look like a hypocrite and snake type person because they knew he was a leader.
