Leslie I know I don’t have to tell u what an amazing miracle u have experienced. Get on your knees and praise God and treasure every breath. You must have a special mission. Seek his will! I lost my husband to gbm. He had a very successful surgery & experimental treatment at Duke and then new tumor surfaced on the other side. Diagnosed in January and gone in October. I’m still in shock well over a year later. I’m so happy for you.

My daughter Maggie was diagnosed with medulloblastoma at the age of 10. She’s now 25 and thriving. She is an honors college graduate and works as a resource teacher for 3rd graders. The road to recovery is rough but there’s definitely lots of life ahead post treatment. Thank you for shedding light on this disease and the treatment process. I hope Maggie’s outcome gives you motivation and hope. Keep fighting - you got this!

Hi! My name is Mackenna! I’m reaching out because I’m a medulloblastoma survivor and I was also diagnosed during my freshman year of college at 19. I’m 28 now and cancer free. My family actually watched the interview of you and your father and had to let me know of your battle because of how similar it sounded to mine. I’m sure you’re getting tons of messages, but I want to wish you strength through this journey. Obviously it’s not easy, but a great support system and tenacity can take you very far. You got this! 🥊

Isabella, Sending you huge hugs. Decades ago, I was also a 19yo college sophomore and diagnosed with cancer. My surgery and chemo were successful and I’ll tell you what a friend told me the night before my first treatment because I was so scared and nothing quite prepares you- “This is a pain in the ass thing you have to go through, then it will all be over.” For months and months those words stayed with me and brought me peace, through the challenges of chemo and all its side effects I never doubted it would work and be worth it. Tbe prayers of so many were heard. It’s not easy and you won’t always feel strong, so let others envelop you and lift you in those moments. They love you and will be with you. Always. We will all be praying for you. This is a pain in the ass thing you have to go through, then it will all be over.

Hi Isabella! I am a 19+ year survivor of Medulloblastoma, diagnosed in 2004 when I was 22 years old. The tumor I had was the size of a large orange. I was treated at Childrens Hospital in Washington, DC and had radiation at Washington Hospital Center. Almost 20 years later I am living a happy life with my incredible husband and my 2 amazing miracle kids (after treatment I was told I'd never be able to have kids.) I am not without my challenges, but all things considered, I am doing well. I am the family liaison for the non-profit Just in Power Kids. Feel free to reach out to me as I would be more than happy to help in any way that I am able. I'm keeping you in my prayers.

You are a Medullo Warrior 💛 Our 15yo son (who has a twin sister) is 5 months post treatment for MB. I am truly heartbroken that you are having to walk this path. As a parent, it has been the most helpless feeling to watch your child go through something that you can not fix. We are now in aftercare, which has it's own set of challenges. You are such an amazing young lady to make your story public. I had never even heard of Medulloblastom until our son was diagnosed. Your story will help so many children, teens , young adults and families. 💛 It is not an easy story to share , nothing about this path is easy but know this, you have hundreds of Medullo families that empathize, respect and support you! 💛💛 You've got this Medullo Warrior 💛💛

Hi Isabella, just saw your interview on GMA. I just want to tell you that you are an AMAZING person. I am a cancer survivor and what I can tell you from when I went through treatments is that people can tell you all kinds of things to try to motivate you but only you know what it’s like, so it’s totally ok to have days when you are just feeling down wondering why all of this is happening to you. I remember everyone telling me to be strong, well it’s impossible to feel like that every day. It’s ok to not always feel like superwoman. The most important thing, I feel, is just to trust your body’s ability to overcome, no matter how sick the treatments make you feeI, and other factors that bring you down. I used to have this beautiful card that said “This too shall pass”, and so one day at a time. You’re awesome and I commend you for creating a forum for people experiencing cancer: patients, caregivers and survivors to gain and give information, or just express themselves. USC reference: Fight on!

I had the exact same symptoms as you did where I couldn't walk in a straight line and was constantly feeling nauseous, vomiting, and having throbbing headaches that lasted on and off from days to eventually a month when I got my diagnosis. I'm 23 now and I have been in remission for almost 4 years. You are not alone during this difficult journey you are experiencing right now. Hi Isabella! Thank you for using your platform to bring a message of healing, hope, and especially need for donations and continued work for a cure for all cancers! Our son was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma in 2018 at 23 and died of complications in June 2021. Completely different cancer, but also a rare childhood cancer and diagnosed as a young adult. I know it’s hard to share your story. Jack did not want to share a whole lot. He wanted to be the life of the party, and not bring anyone down. Hi Isabella-I too, was diagnosed 09/2021, with breast cancer, at 46, and am now in remission post surgery and treatment around a year 1/2. I don’t like calling myself a “survivor”; I am a CONQUEROR, and you will be too! You are such a sweet girl, and are blessed to have an amazing support system. Lean on them, lean on God. He will never leave you or forsake you. You can do ALL things through Christ, who gives you strength.❤

Dear Isabella. I just heard your story. My daughter was stricken with hodgekins lymphoma at 19 years old: 34 years ago, when cancer treatments were administered in a combination of drugs. It was a hard road for her, but God gave her the strength to endure. She's now a healthy and beautiful 53 year old. I truly believe You will beat this . Stay as strong and positive as possible. We're praying for you and your entire family.

When diagnosed 6 years ago with S4 Metastatic HER2+ breast cancer... I was so thankful they found it. We learn to accept the diagnosis so we can begin to heal, but remember this.. we will never own the disease. Don't give it any power. Nausea is part of our journey, we learn to stay ahead of it. Take your rx, even if you don't feel nauseous. After having scheduled 17 bouts of chemo... I needed to do 19. You are strong, you are beautiful and you can do this. Take the time to take each day slow. Do your best, eat those baked potatoes... keep smiling. Have your heard of rainbow breathing? Breathe in all things in color that make your ❤️ happy. Let's puck yellow... breathe in sunshine, daisies, daffodils and breathe out black icky sticky worry stuff. Let's try blue... breathe in blue skies, blueberries... breathe out the ick. This really helped me during traction after my back surgery. Hugs and healing from California.

Isabella, I am very sorry you are having to got through this cancer crap at such an early age, but I can see you are a very strong, intelligent, and nice positive person. I pray you will beat this and have a long and happy life. I had to laugh when I say you in your birthday bed after your surgery. That brought back memories of my own Pancreatic surgery the day before my birthday nine (9) years ago. HA! But as you can see, I'm still here after my Surgery, Radiation, and Chemo! Just hang in there and thank you for what your doing to help others.🙏
