We get that racism here in the States with Judaism. One side of my family dates it's arrival in the US back to 1679, but the Jewish side only back to 1904. With a British surname (my grandfather was born in London in 1876), I could easily avoid any association with Judaism, but I grew up in a Jewish household and when religion comes up I openly discuss the fact. Even very well educated people stumble and say things you talk about (or worse).

Hey, if you ever get another Web Cam get the Microsoft 5000. They have a built in mic and if you have the MagicJack computer phone, they turn your Computer into a Speaker Phone. I love talking on the phone now.

I don't think nationality is a matter of where you are born. I think you can adopt a country and work to make it a better place to live in. It is sad when so many people, both those born in the UK and those from abroad, do not appreciate the generally accepted values that make this country what it is. We are not perfect, but there are many worse places to live ...
