When i was young ,I always do what my parents teach me , go to gurdwaras and sit there for while , eat langer. As i grew up i become atheist . But In one stage of my life i became really depressing in my life then i try to get spiritual to release my stress then i start learning about sikhism from google and video Eventually one day i just sit in quite place and start chanting waheguru ,i Experience something different which i never experienced in my life which is really hard to explain. From that day i start learning more about my religion . I start reading holy text with English subtitles i start enjoying every single line , now i am happy , young man which is always filled with happiness and joy. You are have such a beautiful story and experience, thanks for sharing with all of us .God bless you

usually those born in families too religious tends to move away from religion, this mainly due to a practice too rigid by the family. Nothing means, you can be born the son of a Granthi but if you do not make an experience before Maya hardly understand the essence of Waheguru. At least this happened to me, I was born Christian I was very devoted, then adolescence leads you to know the world, Maya and her false illusions, then I realized that true happiness is not here, then I become Muslim and start looking the truth because I understand that it can not be in Islam. After three years I leave Islam and start looking again and so I get to Guru Nanak and start in Sikhi, I am a Sikh Sahajdhari and I will surely be for a long time, the path is long for me before taking Amrit. Thank God, Guru Gobind Singh leaves his mercy also for the sahajdhari. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.

I'm a Christian Sikh - Didn't Convert, I Added, and I am expecting a palm branch - sheep dog, not converting, Sikh Tenet's and my sword usually is my mouth... scripture... The Scripture! Let's ATTACK IT! Blodline...promises for a blood line or called to Sikh by God or Godless looking for God... um... That sounds like YHWH. Nothing Impossible with YHWH. The more I read, the more I saw YHWH and YESHUA Logic... Example: You Sikh, there are no demons for you to worry about, the adversary is working against God and all of us. This Faith of theirs protects them. They don't tend to need exorcists or ghost hunters. Ok.. Let's look for some PAGAN STUFF.... sniff sniff.... Bow to God's Word, Worship only GOD? YHWH would like that yup yup. No Images Idols or planet worship or stars or the sun? YHWH would like that too. Hmm... I forgot about Sikh - but I had a Good bye Prayer to God - like - I wanted to bow out, I'm just bad, never good enough for anyone down here... hypocrisy is just everywhere - I'm done. Well... He contacted me the next day and he is terrifying. He told me it would be great, each rewarded according to thier deeds, relax, then he gave me marching orders, to tend his flocks and sheepdog, and im a mere dog and he will crush me if I fail, he wasn't all tender gloves, terrifying is the word, I asked if I could pray with the Sikh - he said YEs, so to honor sikhi I do the tenets and don't convert, now its splinter pulling and only when needed... a muslim, a christian, and a jew all in a circle debating ... peaceably... YHWH loves that, I'm not saying a word :) Walks by smiling - They talking about GOD, That's how the oil burns brightly - those fruits of the spirit unite us. Love, Gentleness, Kindness, PAtience, Long Suffering (after patience runs out - Sikh are good at this - I am greatful) I said to much - PEACE! Forgive my Mistakes - I'm no Saint or Angel, I try but I'm Fall on my Sword Committed to GOD disciple. HE says Sit, I sit. BArk, I BArk. Try to make Peace? Absolutely. And An abode for those running to and fro in these perileous times. Real HOPE is a rare commodity these days, think GOD the world says we are all DELUSIONAL. I think the Sikh were indeed helped by GOD because of their Reverent submission and pleas and the plight they were in... That sounds like the Loving YHWH I've known since a Child... different promises for different people is not beyond YHWH... They are blessed, if you can't tell the Sikh are a blessed people... I dunno... There are other folds in God's grace, but when my Sikh teacher tells me something - it's usually really deep self work... keeps me honed. But I am still christian so I am Vocal... Most Christians can match thier law better if they slow down on communion until GOD calls them to heaven. Otherwise, legally, they are taking it unworthily which is LETHAL and quite serious. No Law saws God gets mad if you don't take it (earthly hope, you get a palm branch according to their bible Revelations Ch 7. Praise WAHEGURU, Jesus does, he said "I didn't come to glorify myself, but he that hath sent me!"

Shri Guru Granth Sahib ji Page 1289 This shaabad / quote on page 1289 carries on describe how people who label themselves as vegetarians can do various other forms of sinful action whilst subjugating the meat eaters. How it is mistake to quarrel and fight over meat eating unless we address all different forms of ignorance and sins as well. Eating from someone else rightfully earned share is equal to eating a dead carcass. I believe that the driver guy you had met followed this path of understanding. Yog is a means to an end, purpose of yog is to connect with the divine. If it is helping you to connect with the divine, then that Yog is correct. If not, then it is futile. Even finding a moment to repeat lords name at your work or job is a beneficial foam of Yog. I hope that the path of sikhi that you've understood is of a volunteer type in nature. Nobody should tell you to convert. Its not for the short distance or easy path. It is to live with understanding of divine and his nature selflessly. But as you do along the way, you'll find it be fulfilling and energizing.

Guru doesn’t really mean darkness remover I think that’s a folk etymology. It comes from Sanskrit word for heavy which shares a proto-indo European root with gravis ‘heavy’.
