I love this area too, it feels tranquil and homely, we were just north of here in May. We are looking for a farm like this, but smaller area, a hectare or two. We made an offer of the asking price on a small farm, as we felt it was a reasonable price. We were just on an area scouting trip but fell in love (we were shown the farm by the owner of the accommodation we were staying with, it was his freinds place). Found out yesterday that, they are not sure if they want to sell! Disappointed but we continue our search, I’m in the process of watching all your videos for tips and as you film the drive as well as the place you visit, it’s helpful to see if that area is the scenery we enjoy and our kind of place. Your videos are really helpful, thank you and they are very entertaining too, you have a great sense of humour.

Hello, ha ha yep running water gets me as well ! wow olive tree heaven, the processing of olives is a bit of a mission for the novice, i once brought a tree thinking it was going to be simple ! when i found out the process i went back to buying them in a jar, my tree even produce a good size olive after about 8 years, eventually my goats ate the tree, i was not upset though as it brought nothing to my table. I imagine it would be so easy to sell them in there raw state though with a good turnover if you have that many trees in an olive producing country. You're so funny! They a processing plant nearby you can take them too. Drop off olives pick up lovely olive oil. A lot easier :)

We stayed in Vale de Prazeres for a long time with our best buddies. They had a farm there and it is beautiful. They didn't like the summers which they described as an inferno. The water quality is supposed to be quite badly poluted from farm waste sadly. They ironically moved recently to closer to Coimbra and where we chose to buy for those reasons and its also rural but closer to the cosmopolitan areas of Portugal. That was quite a blast watching your little trip, thanks for sharing!

Hello! Thanks for sharing this amazing views from the place I grow up. I'm from the area close to Monsanto (about 3km), but actually working and living in south of Germany. But I return every year in summer to this great landscape. The area around Monsanto and Penamacor is great and there are a lot of people from GB, Germany, NL living there. In Penamacor is already a big community of people from GB, they have also an english school for the kids and some english pubs. Actually there are a lot of farms and houses selling in the area of Monsanto, with great views and with access to fast internet. My parents for example live in a small village (about 500 people living there) and have internet with 500MBit/s (they could even choose up to 1000MBit/s). And this in a rural area. I think you made a great choice! Congratulations!

Fundão has a very good parm ham the name in Portugueses PRESUNTO , and very close the Serra da Estrela , in winter snow, but in summer is very hot the major the days is 40 degrees celsus or above .very quite to enjoy.

I am in Central Portugal!! I spend lots of time in Castelo Branco but there is a lack of decent accommodation in the area. At the moment I am in a tent. In January with no proper gear!!!!

I would employ someone to help set up all the necessary bureaucratic registrations such as health registering car, doctor dentist etc, less stress I did it when i moved to Bulgaria and it was a very good service
