About festivals in India, every region has its own interpretation of the spiritual significance of them ... For instance, in Bengal, 'Goddess Durga Puja' is celebrated as the main festival, whereas 'Diwali' coincides with 'Goddess Kali Puja'; albeit in the north, 'Goddess Laxmi Puja' takes precedence. As Indians, we are fortunate to celebrate 'New Year', multiple times in a Year, including after Christmas :)
