I'm currently on Clonazepam for panic attacks, although my doctor has recently shown interest in lowering my dose and eventually stopping it all together because of new information that long term use of Benzo's can actually CAUSE Parkinson's, im somewhat afraid of coming off of it, because I remember life before it, almost unbearable. Not sure how true this information is, but im not in a hurry to get off them, even though im sure im physically addicted to them by now.

U need to detox the benzos that have now upregulated the homeostasis between the breaking state and ur get up and go dopamine state.. When u go off of it ...the brain without the breaking system will increase brain activity and dopamine overdrive.. Research benzos detox ...and see the difference that CBD and THC has on the breaking system while on detox... U need to slowly reduce the number of activated GABA receptors.

I have recently tapered off Clonazepam after 17 years of usage. I started taking it after being diagnosed with AML in 2002/03, at the doctors' recommendation. My PD symptoms first appeared during my chemo for AML, though I was not officially diagnosed till 2014. Unfortunately, in the last couple of weeks since my final greatly reduced dose of clonazepam on June 3rd I have experienced severe tremors as well as insomnia. I certainly don't miss the zombie-like state I was in for 17 years! I am enjoying my current ability to think clearly for the first time in a long time, but this level of shaking and insomnia are horrendous!
