Hello friends, getting bored with mundane routine my friend and I decided to visit a near by place called Shantiniketan, West Bengal approx. 320 km round trip from Kolkata. Shantiniketan is famously known as the birthplace of Novel winner poet - Rabindranath Tagore, the song Jana-gana-mana, composed originally in Bangla by him. Apart from this Shantiniketan is also famous for its rich culture and also for the handicrafts whether in form of dresses or idols or painting or tribal dance and music, thus there is a handicraft haat (bazaar) which opens only in weekend from 12 pm onwards till 6 pm. We planned to visit it further. We have also visited Viswa Bharati University which was founded by Rabindranath Tagore and a famous kaali ma temple at Kankali Tala. Thus friends this is what the gist is.
