Hello! I apologize if this message bothers you a bit (especially since it’s been a long time since you posted this video). I am very interested in going to Thailand to attend university and possibly settle there for a while afterward to work. I am currently researching everything I can about the country and its customs (part of what attracts me is the social culture from different perspectives, especially because it is very different from my home country). I am not very familiar with the SOTUS culture or customs, but I don’t want to form an opinion based only on superficial views, especially due to the language barrier. I was wondering if you could explain a bit about it, or if I should be concerned, or if I should reconsider anything. (Honestly, I don’t want to create any stigma or anything like that. I also don’t want to stop myself from doing something due to a lack of information or, worse, not knowing about the topic). Again, I am very sorry if this message is inconvenient in any way; I also greatly appreciate you taking the time to read it.

@@Isabella-gi3hn I’m so happy to explain more about it. From my point of view, SOTUS culture is now disappearing from Thailand (even some uni/faculty still have it). I can confidently say that I have never experienced it in faculty of medicine, Chiang Mai uni. Most of uni students hate this culture and dont think that it makes any sense. So, many uni are working on eliminating it from their system. Also, I dont think it’s gonna affect you (as a foreigner studying here) and I think thai people will be very happy to welcome you. If you are still worrying about it, I recommend you to choose the uni with good reputation (maybe the famous one)!!!🤍

@@newtrino_ Hi! Thank you so much for replying to my message! You have no idea how much I appreciate it! I’m really excited about the idea of studying in Thailand and have been researching it for a long time. Every day I learn something new, but the language barrier always makes the process a bit complicated. Let’s say I haven’t been able to find where to really investigate or learn about the functioning or origin of many things. I firmly believe that all situations have many sides and points of view, but it has been a bit difficult because what I usually find are more negative opinions that tell stories of violence and other things, and I didn’t want to develop a negative idea because I think knowing something online is not the same as asking someone who lives there. I would like to know everything in a local way and not just have an international perspective. I would really love to talk to you about the topic, but the only obstacle is that I don’t use social media 🥹.
