When you bumped a dock. Always to Pull the Parking ( Yellow Valve) which also pulls the TPV( Red valve at the same time. If you don't , your gonna have air flowing out of your Service line. Don't be careless- Considers an airless. CDL Ref. Section 5 Air Brakes.

It was only those few times when i got mixed up whenever i go with tractor only and release the parking brakes but i got the hang of it now pulling both brakes.

Cool vid ! A little advice? Get a CB, they are more handy than you think and don't rely on your GPS, get a Trucker's road atlas!

Right about a cb when traffic jams start,but there seems to be a lot of brain damaged people on there, or drunks. Just going "ahhhhh" non- stop. Or people broadcasting nationwide for no reason. Bragging about their 1970s technology

I hate to be that guy but always tug test when hooking up. I personally tug test and use a flashlight from behind to ensure the jaws are closed and the kingpins fully secured(no high hook etc). And if you can slap a tire and it’s flat enough you do move the rubber, it’s screwed haha. That trailer also looked a bit older so I’d encourage a wheel seal and grease/oil hub check. Try to be thorough, company ain’t gonna pay for any fines in a dot inspection. Just some tips from a slightly less green rookie of 1 year now! Keep it up and always remember there’s room to learn no matter how much we know! Stay safe out there bro! 😄👍👊

It’s hard to catch up to know everything but yes you are so right from everything you said I do keep a good look at everything especially when it’s something of a dot inspection just in case lol but I’m still a rookie as you can tell haha but all this is a lot for me because no one in my family our generation have been a cdl truck driver so it’s up to me to learn all this and experience all my lessons I learned so far 💪🏻

@@johnnythetruckdriver Oh yeah there’s a hell of a lot to learn in this industry I’ve barely scratched surface from what I can tell. I’m a first generation driver as well! Closest I get is my dad was a trailer shop foreman for about 8-10 years so he’s been teaching me all about trailers and what to look for, other than that I’ve been completely wingin it out here! Hope you succeed out here and hopefully some of the old timers on KZbin can share some wisdom with us all!

@@leviSorgy we sorta in the same story I was driving with a trailer as well for some construction company and it’s totally the opposite from a semi trailer but I did learn something. I wish you the best bro there’s always much to learn.

Yes! They sure did ask me which I had preferred to drive and I told them I wanted a Kenworth bc i heard they are super reliable, they have all exceptI think Peterbilts I believe. And they also ask which days you want to work.

I’ve been working for them for about 4 months. Knight have there own school for cdl which I had went and it’s went good for the 4 weeks of training
