As an entrepreneur I totally relate to the situation. I run a management consulting company and have a team of around 30 people. I also face the same issue during festivals. Time is precious and discipline is must in any organisation. No one is above organisation. I also work around 16 to 18 hour sometime. But people with small thinking won't get it. Monday to Thursday holiday then staff is going to take Friday off for sure...ideally staff should be informed in advance that if Friday is taken as a sick leave then all days will be considered as sick leave.. If you wish to instill discipline then extra sick leaves, late reporting should be considered as negetive points during the appraisal/pay hikes/bonuses
