Tim that's wonderful news. Seems like they might have got around that debacle Cummins anyway. What I'm hearing is plastic freightliners and things of that nature having hell with that system. That is good that the X-15 setup is set to go that far. Like I say she seems to be running strong I think she just broke in. She's a beast.

Excellent video as usual, focus on safety aspect much appreciated. I'm pretty sure here in Australia, 4-way flashers are only meant to switched on when the vehicle is stationary and to show it may be a hazard eg. stalled. Never heard of anyone getting fined but I'll have a look.

Absolutely...following distance and you have to create space between yourself and other traffic, which you can simply do by easing into and out of the throttle... Of course, people are always going to take advantage of the space you create mainly 4 wheelers...you cannot follow close in a big truck, but I see it all the time...

I am seeing more and more truckers using their phone without hands free and not paying attention, or hugging the line and squeezing you out when you pass them. On my way back 96E from Grand Rapids back to Lansing and on West bound a car went under semi trailer all the way back to the back seat, not looking good. Everyone is in a hurry and on the phone or texting. Our 911 posted on FB that your kids were texting more than anyone, I said wrong, he needs to ride high in semi and catch, radio ahead and pull over their parents and older not the young. yes some are but I see more their parents age doing it, the new drunk driving is texting. Love your videos.

The amount of accidents is ridiculous. 22yrs and I've never hit anyone, had a few 4 wheelers do stupid shit and hit me. Grew up with my dad driving. He started in 1980 when I was 7. I'm really glad I got to experience it back then and its really sad to see how truck driving has gone down the toilet. You get alot of drivers being thrown out on the road without hardly any training and all they do is race and don't give a shit about anyone but themselves.

Funny. Spent 35 plus years driving truck out here in Oregon and Washington. Same thing exists and always has. People can't be behind a truck! No matter how close their exit or driveway is

Good day Tim. I have a question what does Peterbilt recommend for cleaning the DPF filter on said model of truck like you got. I've been reading a lot of horror stories about those things plugging up. I was just wondering cuz I know it's going to be in back of your mind. The old girl seems to be running quite strong though so was just a thought. Have a good day.

Hey Tim, quick question for ya. At some point I want to get into the truck driving side of the industry, but first and foremost I want to be a heavy duty mechanic, i want to go through the ropes of that for a while so I know how to repair mostly everything, so I guess my question for you would be, what is your opinion on purchasing new vs used in terms of truck? New I know you can customize to what you want with it, but if for instance I find a used truck that meets my needs would it be a good idea to buy the used truck if I know I can repair/overhaul it? A big thing I really dont like is to have to rely on someone in order to keep my wheels turning, I know I can rely on myself, even if its to at least diagnose whats wrong if I happen to break down on the road so I dont get roundhoused by the repair shop.
@LifeisGood20186 жыл бұрын
Justin Bechtel I’ve discovered that this new Truck is cheaper than a used truck, it’s the down time plus labor that gets you, in your case it would be the down time, so from now on, I’m keeping new, plan on selling this around 300 to 500k miles and start over 👍

Ah ok, thanks for your input. I take it Peterbilt's warranty is actually respectable and they fix their stuff?

Tim I think a lot of these drivers just don't know any better. I mean you're pushing 80,000 pounds down the road you got to respect that equipment and that weight. Somebody pulls out in front of you or you blow a steer Tire for God only knows what you're not paying attention you can do it a lot of damage real quick. You always have to leave yourself an out. People can get killed real quick.

Mr. Tim, we travel in our Motorcoach towing a jeep. 65ft long , . you are right.. revamp the trucking industry. Young truck drivers along with stupid and no common sense 4 wheelers are a bad mix. The new driving hours have created havoc at the truck stops with everyone fighting for a stopping spot at 5PM. than watch them try to back into a hole is beyond funny. Are you the only one left that knows how to back up a semi? Anyway thanks for your professionalism and sharing your trips.

Stay away from lease purchase programs, a very few are worth doing but most are trash. Why pay 5-6hundred a week when you can pay 14-15 a month on a truck with 0miles.
