First time I have seen a digital tachograph explained/demonstrated 👍. Thanks for sharing.
@spiderman019805 жыл бұрын
This is my favourite tachograph. If you flick down a couple more it will show you your WTD in the hammer symbol, It will have a counter on the left and one on the right. When you start they will show the same time and as soon as you have a 15 min it will rest the one on the left and the one on the right will carry on. The counter that you've been showing with the driving symbol will also tell you when you need the break for your WTD. It will show 4:30 and 45, once the 6 hours get closer than the driving time will run out I.E you're at 5hrs and 30min work and you have 2hrs drive time left it will revert to WTD showing 0:30 and 15 break. Once you take your 15 break it will revert back to 2:00 and show 30 break. Also try out the 1 minute rule that many don't know about. I once had my 45 minute break in slow traffic on parliament street in london using the 1 minute rule. Basically you can move the lorry while on break or POA and click back to break or POA as long as you done it under 1 minute.

Just completed my first week back in the driving seat, after a 14 year break - the last tacho i used was the paper type! The truck I’m in has an Iveco unit., which seems to not be covered on youtube 😂 - The company didn’t give me much instruction on it either (pretty much none!) it took me a couple of days to realise it was reverting to rest at every stop, and that I needed to set it to other work every time I stopped 😳 - expected it to be the other way round and switch itself to other work. So easy to forget - especially when you have to jump out / jump back in on a stop - to move the truck a little for positioning..

Nice video. After watching it, you kinda made me realise how simple it can be. Also, its simple for drivers who work, standard day. Few drops here and there locally. Working through business hours. Similar to office hours, you work some hours, then break, a few more, maybe another break, then 1 or 2hrs more then home time. I think it becomes more complicated when driving international etc.

A super useful video, thanks! It helps that you explained it from a driver's perspective and didn't over complicate it. I'm moving from buses to trucks after 26 years of domestic hours rules, and only have 1 week analogue tacho experience. The digital seems even easier! One question: does the tacho immediately go to Drive as you start moving and back to Rest when you stop for a few minutes? On analogue we had to switch modes manually.

Hi, you’re supposed to do a manual entry every morning because your last shift doesn’t end until you clock out. What that means is, when you remove your card, you’re still composing other work for example, uploading your tacho card, handing keys in, checking for anything until you clock out. So the following day you need to do a manual entry to specify the other work carried out until you clocked out and left the premises. 🤔
@TruckDriverHayley Жыл бұрын
You are correct but it didn't apply to me on that job. When I took my card out I took the keys home with me and my card was read at the end of every week. I also didn't need to clock out - I filled in all of my paperwork including my time sheet before I took the card out. There was no other work for me after I removed my card, I got in my car and drove home.

@theoutsider61916 ай бұрын
I would say well done for making a video. However the manual entry should include a little bit of time for when you clocked on and walked to your vehicle in the morning or night whenever you started. This time will be a few minutes before you put your card in. I am looking at this because I'm well versed in manual entries and just came across a tacho setup like this one for the first time during an interview today.... and maybe made an error in not doing enough to ask about this at the time but I was a little distracted with it being assessed and taking to the assessor as I was working. Excuses 😂😂 printout tomorrow to keep a 28 days record 😂😂😂

@@TruckDriverHayley ahh I see thank you. I’m starting agency driving next weekend but I’ve never used my tacho before, do I still need to input a manual entry ??

@@erinmingo5919 When you enter the card it will always ask you what you did in the time since you last removed it, mine comes up as 'Rest until now? Yes/No' others can say 'Manual entry? Yes/No'. If you say no, it will count the time as rest. If you say yes, you can enter what you did. You always need to input the time of other work you may have done. For example, you start work at 6:00 but don't put the card in until 6:30... You would need a manual entry to say what you did between 6:00 and 6:30, in this example it could be other work. I hope that helps.
