Oh my goodness, all the heart eyes for these fabrics!! Love the yellow tartan (tartan is a neutral), and you should be able to get the Tulip skirt out of one metre, cos I did - including stripe matching. And I love the idea of the braces. LOVE the red and pink 70s wallpaper fabric - right up my street, and I'm jealous of your cotton/linen ginghams! (gingham is also a neutral). The coat will be fabulous, and also the denim jumpsuit. Finally, also loving the jumpsuit you're wearing. Lynne :)

Awww Walthamstow market, my old stomping ground. Lived in South Woodford for years and bought fabric (we called it material back in the day) almost every Saturday...... loved looking through the remnant bins at the back of the stalls and getting a ‘dress length ‘ for 50p ish. You go girl, you’ve bought some crackers there (careful typing😂😂😂) x

I'm so envious of the amount of fabric shops that you have access to. The only store I have around me is Joann and their dressmaking fabric selection is small and the quality is not so good. When I was in my 20's there were plenty of options but they have all disappeared as clothing became cheaper and sewing wasn't a necessity anymore. I miss being able to see and feel fabrics before I buy them! You have some lovely pieces - I especially like the border print and that coat fabric. Can't wait to see it!

Fantastic stash! Which day did you go? I've only once made the trek to Walthamstow from Kent and bought twice as much as on my Goldhawk Road trip, but for less than half the price. Was I chuffed or what! Needless to say, I'm itching to go again to Walthamstow market but last time, there were no fabric stalls there, only the shops. Which is the best day please?

Oh no, that's so disappointing. I'm not sure what day the market doesn't stand- according to the website they have Sunday/Monday off so maybe it was then? We went on a Saturday which is NOT my usual day of choice because it gets so busy. The man outside Sainsbury's aka Hassan is there on Tues/Thurs and Sat (although he's only outside Sainsbury's on a Sat - Tues and Thurs he's a bit further along.
