As a bit of extra protection….. I run the middle tie down strap through the glider bag handles. In an extreme braking situation it may prevent the glider from “launching” forward. Congratulations on your new to you glider.

Ya I def was thinking to do that and ended up talking to myself “oh it’s a short ride it’s fine!” But ya adding extra security for pretty much no effort, I’ll need to do that in the future! Thank you☺️

Yay✌️just fyi, mine’s beginner + low budget content😅 if you have $ you can spend you wouldn’t struggle as much as I do and you can have a nicer roof rack. I do enjoy the learning process of things tho. Good luck!

hey Nano Ra I used same setup on a honda civic 30 years ago only wth my HPAT full length I would spread the roof racks as far apart as possible for more support recently while van in shop am using same set up on Honda fit wth Moyes Litesport 3 was grt wth no flex also can stuff foam in ladder rung hole ends to make the journey much quieter cheers
@nanoraflyz6 ай бұрын
I’m afraid to separate the cross bars because it’s supposed to be mounted on my car precisely by rhino racks’ instruction so the racks align perfectly parallel. I think I’ll be ok by adding straps to both end of the ladder and attach them to my car. Yes, I’ve heard about using foam. So far it hasn’t made any sound, very quiet so I’ll leave it as is. Modification I’m mainly thinking to do is to add a few holes to my ladder for my S hooks. I also need to add some kind of padding along the edges of the ladder. It’s pretty sharp. If I left it my straps won’t last long. Thank you so much for your comment and input!😊

Congratulations on your new well used Glider "Blue". I was lately thinking about my own. Still have not finish my H1 and maybe repeat a couple of classes. a bit disappointed but everyone learns at a different pace right. Realistically i want safety above all so i don't mind. Your vlog motivates me, so please please don't stop. if you have to show a fix to "blue" say the replacing a cable or that safety pin on the Keel. So interesting. my instructor, told me that its like five grand for a new Falcon and same weight 145 for me. Thanks you, congrats again and "hang in there" Did blue owners send you the harness ?
@nanoraflyz5 ай бұрын
Thank you so much🙏 it took me almost three years to get myself a glider. I know what you mean and your frustrations. This sport, for sure, it’s a process, parience requiring one. Newer you are to the sport, it has to go slow considering very calm conditions are needed for the training to happen. Depending on how far you live from your school/instructor also can be the slowing down factor… with my instructor passing, for me and others pilots at Blue Sky FP have no choice but to adjust things so we can continue to fly. For me, I’ll need to travel 3-5hrs(depending on the training location) to get hill training done with Blue. It’s huge change for me but if I give up, there is no more flying. Even if it takes time I want to pursue flying. I know there might be days when you feel defeated and unsure how this will go, I really hope that you won’t give up. Great things take time, effort, ton of energy. Please don’t compare your pace with others. Everyone has different situation, life, you can only go at your own pace and that’s perfectly fine. Thank you so much for telling me to continue the channel. I plan on doing that😊 Oh and harness, I have a Woody Valley’s Libero harness😎 Keep going!!!!

@@nanoraflyz sorry for the late reply, I finish my H1 six classes and my instructor and i, decided to repeat it, If during the course he believe i could move forward it would be credited to H2 program. But life happens, this weekend is rain, next week is my older daughter birthday and the following is my dad visit. Hopefully i can get September and October to fully complete H1. my motivation is KZbin pilots who like you, on a journey. The moment i look up while off the ground and have the confident and experience both to take off and land safety i would look into a glider myself. Keep on flying.

My initial impressions on Falcon vs Alpha: the sail is much ‘tighter’-feeling. The glide is so much longer, a little speed goes a much longer way. Less roll response when she gets slow. Heavier. But the feeling of owning your own glider? Amazing. Can’t wait to see your first flight!
