I've subconsciously started talking to myself with positive affirmation phrases to counter some of the harsher inner dialogues. I was also uncomfortable when I realised I was using these affirmations because sometimes they seem to come off as superficial. But if the harsher inner voices can cause so much damage maybe affirmations can be a defence against them 🤷
