Wow, Rodney, this was the first vlog I watched and it was great. That your house and backyard? Beautiful, simply beautiful. I'm from New England (MA) and miss the woods and nature. Here I am in FL and it is not the same. Oh well. Hey, I wanted to let you know that you were the first person (video- WIP) I watched when I wanted to get into gaming (about 5 years ago). I still check you out when I want to know about a game. Thanks for the video. I'll be watching when I can.

I have recently started what I call the 4-year plan. It is similar to your book; healthier eating, activity levels, mindfulness, etc. I started it specifically on December 12th, 2018 as I didn't want it to be a new year resolution, for reasons similar to what you indicated. Currently, I am trying to burn an extra 500 calories a day and as a side-effect, I am not eating out very often. Not eating is not an immediate goal for improvement, but certainly one for the near future, so it is nice to get a head start on this. I use to be an engineer, so I have written an engineering spec on my plan and have sign-off from all of my immediate family so they can support and recognize my goals.

Happy New Year, Rodney! Our cats go in any closet door that opens -- often sneakily and without us noticing -- and have found themselves trapped for hours as a result. Gotta admit, I cringed a little at the thought of cat litter in my hair when you tossed that handful. :) And I'm pretty sure the geese hang out by your house for the chance to have their debut on KZbin. Really appreciated the thoughts on not quitting. Definitely key.

Happy New Year! I too am doing a fitness regiment that will last through March. I have been a member at Gold's Gym since last March and go to group cross-fit lite classes a couple times a week but they just kicked off what they call "The Challenge." It was almost no difference in price from my membership and it is about body transformation, taking into consideration but is not solely determined by things like weight loss, muscle gain, fat weight, muscle weight, BMI, etc. I actually have a 3D body scan today where the system will take measurements of all over my body (i.e. distance around my neck, several circumferences around my arms, legs, waist, chest) while also sending up wave in my body like sonar to determine all those other calculations. Each week they are sending out helpful work out and nutrition tips, while rating the gym on my performance which creates an accountability system for the instructors to be even more invested in my personal development than they already are. At the middle and end they will do another round of those scans which will be sent off to a blind nationwide panel who will award the top people per age bracket by gender and there will be local prizes as well. Let's hold each other accountable to see it through and make a positive difference on our health! :) I have never seen that candy before, but will keep my eye out, but it should probably wait until after March.

I am tots with you about goal setting year round. That being said - I discovered the Habitica which is really helping me separate and organize habits both for APN and for my creative life and I think you might like it. It basically is a Task Manager that lets game-ify your life into an RPG. Also: I was so hype to finally see Stella’s. And so sad again when you didn’t scream Stella when you were foiled once more. ;)

The German bakery near my house is also closed on Mondays. And according to reference.com, a group of geese on water is called a plump -- although some other sites claim that a plump is a group of geese flying close together (rather than in the usual V formation, I assume).

Oh, and happy New Year to you too of course. I loooove geese, so thank you for including them. We found that some geese have stopped migrating over winter, because it's become much warmer now. We have a water reservoir near us where a bunch(?) of Canada geese (I think that's what they are) overwinter during milder years. I don't know about this year, but I'll have to make sure we go for a walk there with the family soon. :)

In the US I've seen it as "Toffifay" but that is normally at somewhere like World Market so I'm not sure which is the "real" spelling let alone pronunciation. I've always said it like "tah-fe-fey," kind of like Stewie says in Family Guy.

Not all geese migrate. There is a subset of geese, called "Resident Canada Geese" that remain in, well... Canada. Or more precisely, wherever it is that they live, since they don't all live in Canada. Some live in the Northern States of the U.S. They remain behind to continue to give you the honking noises that you so much love to hear! On land, includes on the water.
