If you’re going to Texas, try to cross by Laredo is the safest way to do it, and be extra careful in your trip from Monterrey to the border there’s a lot of insecure issues in that area. Believe me , it’s a good advice from a Mexican guy that follows you, God bless you 😀

It will be great to hear about your experiences in other countries especially the ones overseas. It'll defenatly help clear the phobia some have about traveling to unfamiliar places. You do a great job making your videos! I like all of them and thanks for showing us around the world. I hope to meet you someday... it will sure be an honor!!

Items for discussion in Texas...Border Crossings / Check Points Intercontinental Crossing, and documents needed. Equipment needed or not needed ie... GPS, Tools, Extra Parts etc. Fuel Mileage on the AT vs Services. How do you find places to stay. Camping vs Hotels. No need to feel like you were "Grumpy" I don't think it came off that way at all... Great Vlog and series

Not one for leaving KZbin comments but I must tell you I love the channel I love the quality I love the bike and literally heading to the dealership today to pick up my daughter's first dirt bike and start the haggling process to purchase my new 2017 or 2018 Africa twin. Keep up the good work good luck in your continued success.

Great presentation in Dallas! You think it will be hard adjusting to being home? Not traveling all the time? Kinda like being at the playboy mansion all day and having to go home. Great videos! Take care.

Awesome vids man, love the drone work too. What are you speaking about in Dallas? That might bring more relevant questions to the Q&A, or at least talking points from us.

I am speaking about Adventure motorbiking. I have a general idea what I am talking about but specifics help. Thanks for watching.

Can you film one of your presentations and post it or even live stream it ? Also talk about your gear evolution over time - I always over think and consequently over pack. Can you also critique the Africa Twin - I am curious if you think that a smaller bike of similar design would be better or if the AT is just right...
@tburnettiii6 жыл бұрын
I would cross into Texas at Puente de Columbia, NW of Laredo, much easier, no traffic. Damn, well i’m going to miss your presentation. I’m on a biz trip in San Jose, CA for the next couple of weeks. Would have enjoyed riding my AT from Austin to see you talk.

Hi William - really enjoy your videos. How do you get your Garmin 660 to give an off road option? When I select 'off road' on mine it gives me a straight line - as if by plane!

Too bad ur presentation is not in Austin since I would attend. Good luck with the pitch. You have excellent material to pull from for the last couple of years. Consider getting sponsored by touratech and put together a video series of all the BDR’s, TAT, and Continental Divide Trail.

Thx for the videos William, I like the combination of riding a motorbike and traveling and meeting people without prejudice. It's easier to judge people or countries than to try and understand them. It also tells me I should not have prejudices about Americans)). Anyway, the traveling mindset might also be a subject of your presentation. Will you be posting your presentations overhere? I'm afraid I won't be able to attend, as I have a day job overhere in Holland))

Nothing to be sorry about! It was a great commentary. Still would like to know what tubes you use in those tires. Regular, HD, or Ultra Heavy Duty. I know you carry spare(s) how many? Was it you who said your front tube can be used on the back in a pinch?
@WilliamGloege6 жыл бұрын
I carry a front and rear spare tube. I like HD, but I use what i can get my hands on. My biggest suggestion is to change out your tubes every 10-15,000 miles. Use the old tube a spare. Tubes wear out, I dont think that people recognize this. Thanks for watching.

I like your vids and I like the bike. Have you had problems with rust around the rims or problems relating to the fork?. I heard those are weak points on the AT.

I had a little corrosion on the inside of the wheels. I did spend a lot of time on the Salt Flats in Uyuni. Easy fix. Sandpaper and a rattle can of paint. $2.00 fix. Thanks for watching.

That is one long road trip you have done so far. Not sure if anyone has brought this up before, but I was wondering what the state of your health is. I know we don't see everything, but it seems like plenty of time in the saddle with very little exercise and lots of unhealthy food...
@WilliamGloege6 жыл бұрын
Good question. Easy to answer. I am fat. Gained 30 pounds. Beer and tacos.
@My17A6 жыл бұрын
You gained 30 pounds and the clothes you started the trip with still fit? I'm not trying to be a smartass, cause I'm not very good at it. That is something that would keep me from doing a trip longer than a week or two. I think I would feel like shite after a few weeks on the road.
