The benefits are too good and too easy to come by. It's no wonder no one wants to work. This especially applies to newcomers, who, by comparison, do think that the streets are paved with gold.🙃

No one wants to work or no one wants to pay? Cost of living is getting ridiculous. Seems corporate greed is out of control. Agree unemployment should require some efforts.
@banditnev2 ай бұрын
Some don't want to pay for sure you are correct, but he at the bike shop does pay above award wages for a qualified mechanic and it has air conditioned work space which some places don't for the worker.

I've seen that first hand. When I was working, one of my jobs was orientation of new hires. When I was doing that, I guess I put around 10 people thru that class. 8 out of 10 people quit that day. The work ethic of the young people today is so disappointing.😢

I spent over a year and interviewed dozens of people in order to find a new software developer. Some of the things I heard in interviews would shock you. Most of the people hadn't actually put the effort in to learn the job and actually wanted to look up the answers to basic questions online.

This seems to be an issue across a number of industries unfortunately. People are finding it very hard to get people across a number of industries.

local garage is advertising for a fully qualled M/C mechanic, 13 an hour. and they wonder why no one is applying, when the local bus company are offering that to driver trainees (going up to 15/hr once you pass) and 50k for fully qualled PSV mechanics. unfortunately, its often not "no one wants to work" but "no one wants to pay right and put the money up for training if the skills don't exist in the local area"
@banditnev2 ай бұрын
True Danny they charge $100 plus per hour but pay the worker peanuts.

I'm a PAYE, but businesses need to recoup from that $100/hr, rental of premises, insurance, work cover, super, its not as easy as you make out with the "Back in my day", "young ones are lazy", etc. And if something goes wrong that profit margin of 25 to30%, quickly gets eaten away. By the way I'm 57. With a trade, engineering diplomas and a degree. Worked my way up to management then back down to the tools again. The workplace and world are changing very quickly. Despite the sustainability hype, lifecycles of machines and buildings are shorter now than before, so it's easier to replace than repair. It's harder to choose a trade or career that will be sure to last you a long time.

It's almost as if we left the biggest jobs market after Brexit. Weird huh
