The fact that you are telling the story is a great sign!... I had an accident not too long ago with a very-broken arm/wrist (just like you) and I'm totally grateful it was my arm and not my head. I had a crash in the (lawless) Philippines due to a high speed vehicle losing control in a corner. Had my left arm rebuilt with titanium. The gear I was wearing saved my life but especially my left foot. My race boot was broken in two but my foot only suffered some broken metatarsals. I wish you a speedy recovery. You will be back on a bike soon. Also extend my best wishes for your friend.

David Johnson I'm dreaming about a time when people will have the right to get driving licence for cars only AFTER two years of motorcycle experience. Perhaps after that they will always remember how dangerous are cars for 2-wheelers on the shared road

Wise words Jamie. Get well soon mate! Watching you in this state reminds me of my own accident a few years ago. I was also wearing all the gear and luckily walked away to tell the tale, broken ribs, damaged a few vertebrae, a broken tooth and some cuts and bruises. I was in a lot of pain for a few months, but I was very lucky... Lovely people, wear all the gear, all the time. I know it's tempting when it's nearly summer and damn hot not to throw on that jacket or riding jeans, but just do it, it can make all the difference! Please keep us updated Jamie.

Oh Jamie. I just don’t know what to say. Love you brother. You motivated me to get on a bike 10 years ago. I also suffered a gruesome injury requiring multiple surgeries. My accident took place hiking and not on two wheels. Still it gave me a perspective I didn’t have before. Needless to say, I sold my 2013 Multistrada that I bought from your recommendation. Thank you. I loved every mile of it. I’ll be shopping for a replacement bike in 20 years when my personal responsibilities to my kiddo aren’t so apparent; I hope Motogeo will still be around in 20 years! Get well soon.

Gosh, glad you're on the mend and your friend is stable! I've been riding only three years and had three downs. Every time my gear saved me, and I've been a bit banged up here and there myself.
