Your life steps were amazing. I learnt one best advice is to work beyond one's station. In a world of hatred, jealousy and inflation, it takes time to be a professor. But it is good to start the marathon, God will makes the impossible happen at the end. Thanks for your motivation article Sara.

Thank you for breaking this down. That was probably the most thorough explanation of how to do this and who a professor is I have heard so far.

"Back yourself!!" I love it. Great stuff as usual Tara. Discovered the channel a little while ago and the advice has been great even though I'm pursuing an MSc at the moment. Its sobering to hear the brutal truths often indicated in your vlogs. Very disappointing to hear as high as 40% of advertised positions at some universities are already 'filled'. Sounds like that's opening a whole new can of nasty worms in academia - true - but nasty. Another recent creation has been 'professors in practice' that has become more prevalent over the last few years. I've seen several of these 'granted' to persons by the state-owned university where I'm located to persons holding at best a masters degree and questionable track record in practice They neither lecture nor do research but are afforded 'Chairs' through private sector sponsorships. Thanks for doing a GREAT job with these vlogs on top of your other demands.

Great video, thank you Tara! The problem is that the academic career is hardly (for not to say not at all) compatible with family life and young children (I mean for women)...

Always the best Tara! Next question: how would you suggest someone in this day and age go about getting a Lectureship position out of a Grad programme?
