When I taught in Taiwan for a summer, the first thing my friend and I did when we landed (really early in the morning, not much was open and couldn't get into hotel yet) was go to ikea, eat some cake and coffee and then walk around and see everything- it felt so weird because there were so few people there and I was half in culture shock being half way around the world but also being in ikea which felt so familiar

hahaa love that!

loved the vlog! does ollie have a guide for vegetarians in south korea? that's one of my biggest worries about going to teach over there lol
I love IKEA so seeing how different/similar it is in Korea was really cool. I fully expected it to be much the same since IKEA is consistent regardless of the country but it was neat to notice little differences in decoration and over all vibe.
@nancyvasquez62114 жыл бұрын
I work in the food department and menus do vary by country and sometimes regions. We feed "the many people", so it's great for mukbangs because there may be so many choices that you wanna get them all.
@nancyvasquez62114 жыл бұрын
I work in an IKEA in the states! We have not fully opened our food area besides the Bistro, so I'm happy to see that others in our company are thriving well so far again. Thanks for this video, I hope to visit IKEAs in Korea!

Wow! We are still really doing the social distancing here in Victoria, BC, Canada. Also all stores big or small have limits on how many people are in the store at a time..even Walmart and grocery chain stores and IKEA. I would have been very uncomfortable in the IKEA store you were in. Take care and stay safe!
@mariamata82834 жыл бұрын

Ollie! What a pleasant surprise 😂😂 we don't have ikeas in South Africa, so I'm sooo fascinated by the whole concept of Ikea and cheap furniture (like what you can eat there how cooooll is that???!) 🤯 Holy cow I did the same skillshare class 🤯 super helpful

I haven't been to IKEA for ages. I can't say anything about the IKEA here in Glasgow but the one I went to in Berlin, Germany was larger than the one you both went to in Busan.
@coldestsprite14674 жыл бұрын
i live in trinidad and tobago and we don't have an ikea plus i've never travelled ouside of the country so i've never had the opportunity to visit one. however i can say that the closest i can compare it to is a combination of two popular stores here ie Courts (for the home appliances and furniture aspect of it) and Pricesmart (for the store layout and food court)

She’s a teacher in Korea not a college student, you should do your own research, watch videos of students in Korea (there are quite a lot) and you’ll know what to expect so don’t ask her that. Sorry if this offended you but I felt like giving you a better advice instead of stressing her
