If there's one thing that the Philippine government should limit is the exportation of our English teachers since our neighbors will be able to close the gap with us as far as proficiency in the language is concerned. English being one of the few competitive advantages that we have especially for higher paying jobs overseas should be maintained in order to preserve that edge. Not only that, our BPO industry whose value proposition lies primarily on our relatively cheap English speaking workforce would face stiffer competition in the years ahead and it wouldn't be too far fetched to imagine that the industry will be moving to our neighbors in a decade or two if our costs become too high. Granted, they can also hire other nationals to teach them but if they opt for native speakers their timeline to achieve the so-called critical mass would be slower coz these Westerners generally require higher pay than Pinoys so not as many potential students would be able to afford the classes.

Nice video and a glimpse of what it's like in Indonesia. How much can an experienced and certified teacher make there? I am considering to Asia and Indonesia seems like a beautiful country, but not sure of how it is being a teacher there

Hey, Jovonni, Indonesia's a beauty, really. Salary is totally dependent on your qualifications. It ranges from 1k USD to 5k USD, especially if you've finished your NQT. The students here are sweet and respectful. I'd reckon you'll love it here. Good luck, chap!

Suppose to be teacher of English not English teacher. If you say English teacher you are referring to a teacher born in UK but if you say teacher of English that person is a teacher teaching English language.

Normally, you can search schools in Indonesia over the internet, Sir. They mostly have this 'Career' section where you may submit your application. Here are some schools to search: Raffles, National High School Jakarta, BINUS and Jakarta Intercultural School. Best of luck! ❤️
